Want to buy your tokens at Camsoda safely and securely, with a good chance of anonymity? Then crypto coins are a good choice. Each cam site uses a different “gateway” to accept their coins, and these change over time. In the case of Camsoda it used to be “coinpayments.net” but changed a few months ago to Rocketfuel.

The big advantage of Rocketfuel is that they accept a wide range of different coin types. They also let you connect directly to your exchange if you are using Coinbase.com or OKC. But if you are holding cryptocurrency coins in your own cold wallet then you’ll want one to find the compatible one.

  • Amp (AMP)
  • Filecoin (FIL)

That really covers all the major choices. But it is missing some that I would have liked to see.

Fast and modern enough?

First of all, with Bitcoin it is only basic pay to old style addresses (“3” type which I think is P2WSH, or a multi-sig), there is no SegWit choice (“BC1” etc). I know that doesn’t matter from your poihtn of view sending to them, but doesn’t it seem strange that they are out of date?

Then, with BTC it is purely a “layer 1” on-chain transaction. And while there are plenty of valid complaints about layer 2, basically Lightning, it still does have a lot of advantages in terms of speed. At least once you have it working, and though it may not be working for everybody for those of us who find it ok why not offer it?

A lightning address would make it even easier to pay to them, but putting that aside. What other coins are they missing? Monero, the security coin, and Nano a good modern very fast self-custody choice.

Missing Coins at Camsoda

The absence of Monero (XMR), known for its privacy and security features, is quite surprising. Given that privacy and anonymity are often cited as benefits of using cryptocurrencies, especially in the context of adult entertainment sites, Monero would seem to be a natural fit. Admittedly Monero

Another coin that’s conspicuously missing is Nano. Nano is a unique cryptocurrency that offers instant transactions with zero fees.

This makes it an excellent choice for micropayments, and although payments at Camsoda are not that small, the ease of use could be quite relevant. The lack of transaction fees could potentially lead to more transactions and a better user experience. T

It’s also worth noting that the list is heavily skewed towards Ethereum and its ecosystem. While Ethereum is a powerful platform with a wide range of applications, it’s not the only game in town.

Including a more diverse range of coins could potentially attract a more diverse user base and foster greater decentralization.

While the list of accepted cryptocurrencies at Camsoda is impressive, there’s always room for improvement. Including coins like Monero and Nano, and considering the implementation of layer 2 solutions like the Lightning Network, could enhance the user experience and attract a more diverse user base.
