General:

A quite nice looking site based in Portugal "AtrevidasCam" is in the early days of startup and struggling.  There are sometimes no hosts online so it is hard to judge how well they are doing, but they are advertising and seeking out new models so there is perhaps some hope for them.  By comparison the complex Flash based Portuguese site Sala21.com is doing ok with a few hosts online every time I checked.  The last time I looked Sala21 had 3 free rooms, and AtrevidasCam had 1 member only room. 

Lets hope they don't go the way of TempoDeAntena which lasted only a few years and died around 2008.

Having a webcam site which is really focused on a single language, other than English, is really a struggle.  A few sites have been able to make it work like Visit-X in German and DX-Live in Japanese but for the most part an English site has the advantage because it can tap into the huge USA population, even if you don't add in the British, Australian and other smaller English speaking countries.

What's more even in other parts of the world were English is not the first language it is probably still going to be spoken widely, particularly by the well off educated professionals who are the big spenders at adult webcam chat sites.  I think management at sites like Atrevidascam and Sala21 are well aware of this so they try to make English versions, but unless a site is designed from the beginning to be multi-language it is difficult to make it work 100% properly.  Most of these sites still have menu items or descriptions in the original language that escaped being translated.

Even if they don't, there is still the problem that the hosts working there are going to be from that original country, and so may not be able or willing to work for English speaking webcam viewers.

On AtrevidasCam.net they seem to suffer all these problems.  When for example I go to a model who has the icon for English, a little British flag, her bio page still has the description and turn-on and turn-off things written in Portuguese, so they mean nothing to me.

At the bottom of the Bio page there is also a reviews and feedback, which is also a great idea but not very usable for me as all those I could see were not in English.  A bit of a mistake also is that they are sorted by descending date, so the first thing you see is very old reviews and you have to go to the last page to find out the latest thoughts about the model.

I must have been lucky with my first choice as the camgirl I choose had many reviews.  After looking at more pages I found that many of the models actually have only a few reviews.  The dates on the reviews are a great indication of whether they are actually available recently, some are, and some are not.

When you do find a Portuguese camgirl online who you want to chat with then of course you need credits.  The "Fund your account" link takes you to another of those partially translated pages, but if you just choose the Credit Card option then click the button for how many credits you want you should be ok.  The credit card billing form itself is by "hipay.com" which is some kind of 3rd party biller, and it works fine in English.

All the credit packs you can buy are priced in Euros and the cheapest is just 1 euro, a sort of taster package, of 60 credits.  It gets cheaper if you buy more at :
