Mobile Phone Apps on a Cam Girl’s Phone

This post is about cam girl mobile apps. I can say in advance that when I say “a cam girl”, I mean me. This is my phone, well, one of my phones. It is actually an old phone that I reserve for testing and researching adult entertainment topics. Although it is quite old and is actually badly outdated hardware is was once a “good phone” and now works well with the aid of a custom ROM.

The original phone was a Galaxy S4 which at the time I bought it was a new model. Although it has been superseded in my bag and in the Samsung line by many other models it is still a quite robust piece of hardware. One thing that made it unusable was that it was stuck with some old version of Android, version 5 I think, which meant that almost no modern apps would work correctly on it.

I’ve never been brave enough to custom ROM a phone before, well I did a friend’s once years ago and bricked it, so perhaps that is why I’ve been reluctant ever since. But for this phone, well it wasn’t of any use anyway on Android 5.0 so there was nothing to lose.

A bit of research showed that LineageOS was a good choice for the Galaxy S4, with recently updated ROMs and clear instructions on how to update things.

I used the custom recovery tool TWRP which worked fine and then installed Lineage OS 17.1, which was the stable version at the time, and GApps because everything I do seems to use Google.

It all went amazingly smoothly, and now I have an Android 10 Galaxy S4 which I plug into my laptop and remote control using SCRCPY, which itself is a great tool. If you have seen the screenshots of the various cam sites and apps working on mobile on my site recently, that’s because I’ve done the screenshots by remote control on this real phone, but from my Windows PC. It is a smooth workflow that has made it a lot easier to get the articles out recently.

After all that I end up adding a whole bunch of different apps to view and interact with cam sites, including broadcasting and controlling the remote Lovense Lush toys, that’s the favorite part of this job, constantly using sex toys and getting to masturbate the whole day as part of my work.

So what apps did I end up with so far? Let’s break them down, reading left to right on the Homescreen above, and ignoring the generic ones like Chrome and Twitter.

PumaPay

PumaPay is a cryptocurrency payment system that allows modes at ImLive to get their payments on their phone. But although it sounds like a good idea this type of token, the Puma PMA token, is not widely accepted and you will end up having to convert it if you want to hold Bitcoins or some more widely recognized coin. It solves some of the international money transfer problems that cam girls have, but it isn’t Bitcoin.

Stripchat

The Stripchat “app” isn’t really an app, it is a link to their website. So when you tap the button you get a “full screen” experience that looks like an app, but really you are using the Android WebView to browse their website. It is convenient and generally works fine, but it isn’t really a native app.

That doesn’t mean it is bad, far from it, the experience is very good.

Canli Alem

This Turkish cam girl site managed to get their app into the Google Android PlayStore which is quite unusual, most sites are not able to do that. Maybe nobody at Google can read Turkish and so they don’t realize what it is? As strange as it sounds that sort of thing does happen.

Tusky

This app is not specific to adult cam girls, but it is a client for the Mastodon social network server. Why should you care about that? Well because lots of social networks (like Facebook and Instagram) are not very friendly towards Sex Workers, including Online Sex Workers and so they get persecuted and thrown off the networks.

To avoid this cam girls and porn creators have to migrate to other networks, and Soulcams has used the Mastodon technology to create their own one. They call it Livester, and you access it from your phone using a Mastodon client. I chose the Tusky client and it lets me browse and post there.

Unfortunately hardly anybody else is using it, but perhaps that will change in the future.

Plasma

Plasma is a mobile phone messaging app that seems to only be used by Stripchat, though it doesn’t say so anywhere inside the Google PlayStore.

The idea is that both viewers and cam girls can install the app and then message one another securely, using this messaging app that isn’t used by anything else.

If you have seen this prompt then you’ll know what I mean. That is an encouragement to connect to me using the Plasma messenger. You will need to install the app and then scan a QR code to connect to my channel.

MFC

MyFreeCams is another one like Stripchat where the “App” isn’t really anything but a wrapper around the website, but with a convenient app icon to put on your homescreen. That is perfectly ok as far as it goes as long as the website is a fully responsive, preferably progressive, web app.

For MFC that works fine and you can install the icon and then use it just like an app, even if behind the scenes it is all HTML and Javascript.

ModelCentro

This is another app for models or content creators. It allows models at Modelcentro to create new posts and upload their material. I’ve never quite got the hang of that site and the app didn’t really help so that’s something still pending for me to investigate.

Lovense Connect

Lovense Lush are the most popular remote control sex toys for cam girls, and this is the app that is used to connect a phone to the Lush. There is another version of this app for the computer and that is what cam girls use most of the time, but when you need to set up the connection using a phone instead then this is what you need.

The toys connect to the Lovense App via Bluetooth and while it is great when it works there are times when it just won’t stop disconnecting. Moving to a PC-based version of Lovense Connect fixes that, but requires a custom USB dongle for the Bluetooth. You can’t use your laptop regular Bluetooth. If the dongle is missing or broken, and it is small enough to break if you step on it, then switching to the mobile app is a good temporary solution.

I don’t use it very often, but it does have an option for upgrading the firmware on my sex toys, so that’s worthwhile keeping.

FeelConnect

This app I tried because cam4 recommended it for connecting the remote control toys, but it doesn’t seem to do anything different to just using Lovense via connect and the browser plugin. Perhaps it is useful if you can’t make the Lovense way work, then try this one.

Lovense Remote

Lovense Remote is the tool for people doing long-distance relationship things, without a webcam site, and allows both local and remote connections to a toy I’m wearing. If I want to use a Domi 2 and get finer control over the power settings than I can get from the buttons, then this remote app will do it for me and provide me with a slider control.

LJ App

This one is pretty much the only real app for a cam site view to use. Published by LiveJasmin it seems they can’t get it on the Google PlayStore so you have to download it straight from their website, once you are logged in and visit their website from your phone then you get a prompt to install the app.

While I say it is a real app, as in it is a compiled APK, it doesn’t have any functions noticeably different from simply using the website. That isn’t to say it is bad, but more that the Livejasmin is very good on a mobile phone.

C4 Broadcaster

Want to broadcast at Cam4 but don’t have a PC handy? Then this little app does exactly that.

Broadcasting on Cam4 using your mobile is very easy using this app, and it allows for text and video all on the same device. This will burn your battery fast, but makes it easy to do an outdoor cam show or broadcast while you are on the move around the house. Want to take the Cam4 show into the bathroom or the kitchen? Then the Cam4 mobile broadcasting app lets you do just that.

Free Chat – #1 Chat Avenue

This is the app of a strange “free chat” sites called Chat Avenue. It is one of those community chat and video sites where you never see anything except cock cams and bots posing as girls luring people into real cam sites. It didn’t turn out to be interesting at all.

Larix Broadcaster

This is a great find, a totally free RTMP broadcaster software for Android. What is one of those? Well, think of it as OBS for your Android phone.

Not only can it send an RTMP stream to cam sites that use external encoders, which is just about every cam site now, but it has built-in split streaming.

That means you can send the same stream to multiple sites, all from one phone app and without any complex configuration.

You can have up to 3 connections live at the same time. That means that in theory, you could be broadcasting on Stripchat, Cam4 and Chaturbate all simultaneously from your phone.

That isn’t too practical of course and you have to check with the rules of each site as to whether they allow split camming, but at least it gives you the option. And you can easily set everything up and then quickly switch back and forth.

If your phone supports split-screen then you can even have a web browser open in one half of your screen to do the text chat, and in the other side have this broadcasting software. Or use two separate phones, which works as well.

BongaModels

And last but not least is the mobile broadcasting app for Bongacam models.

It is a full featured broadcaster, comparable to the C4 broadcaster from Cam4, which allows models to broadcast from their phones anywhere they want.

Given how is this is to use it is not surprising that you find plenty of models broadcasting on Bongacams from their mobile phones. Whether they are around the house, in the garden, or walking in the woods there are some great uses of the tech on display at this site.
