Are you a keyboard warrior? Do you know the shortcuts for absolutely everything? Do you Shift-Ctrl-V to paste unformatted, or press ‘.’ to go into Github Dev?

Then you’ll also want to be able to tip a camgirl without taking your hands off the keyboard. Now I know your hands might be busy with other things, but let’s just presume here.

Many camsites let you send tips from within the text chat window, here is how to do it on some major sites.

Chaturbate

The command for keyboard tips at Chaturbate is ‘/tip n <message>‘, such as ‘/tip 100 You are so hot‘, but what it does is open up the standard tipping UI and you still have to click “send tip” to confirm. At least the focus is on the button so you can just press Enter again.

If you are a CB “Supporter” then you also get to use the drop-down to choose Public or Anonymous Tipping.

Tip: Pressing Ctrl-S also brings up the tipping window, but unlike ‘/tip n‘ it doesn’t prefill the tip amount field.

As the recipient of the tip I can’t tell how you did the tipping, it comes out the same for me.

MyFreeCams

On MyFreeCams, you can use the command ‘/tip n ‘ to quickly send a tip. Just type something like ‘/tip 50‘ in the chat box, and it will instantly send 50 tokens to the model. No additional confirmation is needed, making it super efficient for keyboard users.

You can also add a message and there are some options you can use as well. the syntax goes ‘/tip {-p|-m|-s|-a|-h|-xn|-dn} n [message]‘. That’s quite a handful!

Check out their help for the details but the key ones are -p for private, -m for model-only, -x repeating with -d delay in seconds.

Example: /tip -x10d5 50 : sends a 50 token tip, 10 times, each tip 5 seconds apart (total amount tipped will be 500 tokens)

Stripchat

Over at Stripchat you use ‘/tip‘ but they have the additional parameter -anon to make the tip, well, anonymous. Note you will need Ultimate membership for this to work.

Use the command ‘/tip 50 You look great -anon‘ to send me a tip but not say who you are!

On my side, as the camgirl I just get to see a “ninja” tip that doesn’t give your name.

Joystick.TV

At Joystick.tv they have a bunch of commands available by that are preceded by ‘!‘ rather than slash, so you can enter `!tip n’ to tip an amount.

There is also a bunch of commands for the broadcaster to set timers and the like, but for the viewer the !tip is really the only thing that is much use.

Try it next time you see me on Joystick and go ‘!tip 10‘ in my room!
