On other cam girl sites the tags are something that a cam girl sets herself, either on her own profile page or on the room that she creates. For example, at Chaturbate the model can add a tag to her chatroom title so that people can find it from the CB Tags page.

Most cam sites, and most social medial, work this way.

The person who is creating the post or the other content is the one who gets to decide what it is tagged as.

Streamate Tags work differently

That isn’t the only way tagging can work though, and on some porn video sites it is more about what viewers think than the creator/uploader.

Streamate has followed this idea and the tags here are created by the viewers, not the models.

Each model profile at Streamate contains a tags section with different “terms”, and beside each one is a count.

That number is the number of people who have tagged this profile with that hashtag. In the example, before 3 people have marked the model as Sexy and 2 marked her as Amazing Tits. Though if you add in the “Big Tits” tag it is clearly true that she is a bigger titted girl.

Rather than being the model describing herself the Streamate tags are a way for viewers to say what they think of the model. That means those numbers are really “votes” for the model, or one particular aspect of her.

The models are not always happy about tags they get given. Sometimes an unhappy customer will leave a negative tag, which looks pretty bad. Luckily the models can block tags they receive which they do not like. They can’t edit them, but they can block them entirely.

How do Streamate Tags help?

Another important use of Streamate tags is that they allow you to find other models who have similar attributes, in the opinion of your fellow viewers. All you have to do is click on the tag and it takes you to a page of girls who share that same tag.

It is that last part that is most important. It isn’t the model’s own opinion that is being captured here, but through Streamate tags you get to see what other people think of her and therefore it is a viewer’s perspective the tags express.
