The idea is that the tip menus get too long and eat up the space on the screen in chat, I know that in my room I have that problem as my room at Chaturbate is not busy and sometimes the only thing in chat is my tip menu.

Having it scroll means it doesn’t occupy so much space, that is good.

To turn it off or turn it on go to the settings icon in your chat, the “Wheel” and scroll down to “Other Settings”, right under the Tip Volume is the new option Collapse Notices.

Click on “Collapse Notices” to toggle the animation on or off according to your preference. This will help improve the user experience for those who find the animation distracting.

A lot of people seem to not like it, at least I can see plenty of people posting about how to disable it but at least that means you can have it on, or off, as you prefer.

At first I thought it was weird and distracting, but I asked a few regulars in my room and mostly people were happy with it.

If people really don’t like it and find it distracting maybe the the animation could be to adjusted to have a different speed, or just collapse without animation. That would make it less noticeable. However, this would require Chaturbate to make these customization options available in the settings, don’t hold your breath. For now, you can only turn it on or off entirely.

Flags for Chaturbate Girls

On the CB thumbnail screen you will now notice that some rooms have a national flag against them, you’ll see mostly US flags in the first rows but also flags of other countries representing Chaturbate broadcasters from around the world. This new feature allows users to easily identify the country of origin for the models in the thumbnail view.

It is similar to what many other sites have done for a while, so CB is in catch-up mode here.

And like the other changes not everybody is happy with it.

But you can turn it off if you want.

That is the broadcaster can turn it off in her preferences.

As a viewer you just have to ignore it if you don’t like it.

It certainly isn’t from the location field in your bio, which I have set to “This planet” because really it doesn’t matter. And given that some of us have to be careful not to mention our geographic location this idea is a bit worrying, but at least it defaults to OFF.

If you are a model at Chaturbate, then check your settings and decide if you want your country shown or not.

As for viewers, it is interesting to see what countries are represented in the Chaturbate thumbnail view with their national flags.
