Stripchat continues to add new features to their internal messaging system. Recently they added the ability to send images when doing PM between models and viewers, and now they have added audio messages. That means you can send “voice mail” via Stripchat.

This isn’t a new idea if you have used WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or just about any other chat app. If you don’t like typing, then simply holding the record button and talking is an easy way to communicate via chat apps.

Imagine if you are into ASMR and want the model to whisper in your ear, then this is a way she can do it via Stripchat voice messaging.

At the moment the recorded voice messages are only one way. From the model to the viewer. That is a shame because audio messages in the other direction would be even more useful.

This is particularly true when using a mobile phone, where typing on a tiny on-screen keyboard can make communicating hard. While cam2cam is best for two-way communication, recording voice messages makes it into a walkie-talkie experience which is a good halfway.

For now though Stripchat audio PM is only from Model to Viewer.

When it comes to chatting on a cam site the idea is to monetize that though, so while models can send their voice messages for free, they can also set a price for them.

For the model there is a typical recording icon for her to talk to. All she has to do is hit the microphone icon in the PM window and talk away.

The button starts and stops the recording and when it is done there is an option to play it back, delete it, and to set a price for opening the audio message.

The default is 50 tokens which seems quite a lot but she can type in any value she wants so the message can be cheap or expensive to play. It doesn’t have to be paid either, by setting it to “Free” instead of “Paid” she can make an voice message that works without payment.

By offering an optional title field the model recording can say what is inside. That makes more sense if it is something like “60 seconds of moaning your name” or something like that. And one minute or 60 seconds seems to be the longest that an audio message at Stripchat can be.

For the viewer the voice messages appear in the same PM chat window as text, or images, and at first show as “locked”. The tokens charged do not get withdrawn from his wallet until the viewer actually decides to do so.

It is a nice simple way to pay for small audio messages and good that Stripchat continues to innovate. Not every one of their new ideas is going to catch on, but until they try how will they, or the watching and broadcasting community, know what will work?
