Did you know you could get *all* of your Chaturbate data exported for you to take away, browse, save, analyze or just gloat over? Cry over too if you need to. It’s like having a personal time capsule of your cam girl or cam viewer journey!
This is *mostly* of use to you if you are a broadcaster and want to learn more about what CB has on you and make your own stats dashboard about your shows, tips, performance and so on.
But viewers can do it too and might learn a thing or two about what you’ve been doing.
Ready to look yourself in the Chaturbate Mirror? Then this is where your CB data export journey begins.
It’s all about Privacy
Have you looked for an export function in CB before and not found one?
Me too.
I didn’t know about it until I stumbled across it quite by accident, and that’s because it is in the “Privacy Center” of all places.
Sidetrack: I suspect this has something to do with European GDPR rules and similar in many countries where companies have a legal requirement to cough up any information they have about you.
Ready to go there? First Login to CB as normal:
You have to be logged in, you can’t get this sort of information without proving who you are.
Log in to your Chaturbate account using your usual username and password.
Scroll all the way to the bottom where the fine print is and look for “Security Center”:

The security center looks like this:

Now you click the “Privacy Center” button.
Almost there now, the next screen is where you choose you want to export data.

Turns out Chaturbate has a lot of data about you.
Choices choices…
Look at all of that, there are 10 different types of data you might want to get. They are as follows:

Please select the items you wish to export:
- Email Addresses
- Profile Information – All your bio and profile information
- Chat Messages – Chat messages sent by you; sadly not including ones that are to you
- Token History – History of your token activity; show me the money baby! This is the most useful part
- Audit and IP History
- 2-Step Devices
- Photosets and Videos – All your uploaded photosets, videos, and PM media
- Broadcasted Private Shows – All your recorded private shows where you were the broadcaster – Warning: This may be several gigabytes; it is about a gig per hour of shows you have done
And then there are two more “Restricted Items” which need you to talk to support to get them exported, but you can start the request here.
- IDs on File – All uploaded IDs and Independent Broadcaster Agreements – for if you forgot what ID you used…
- Payout Information – Your payouts and payout information
You can pick and choose what you want to export, so don’t feel like you have to grab everything at once. And though you probably want to download your private shows at least once, you won’t want to do it regularly as yes the file size can be enormous.
Unfortunately, there is no way to filter by date range here, so you’ll get everything from the start of your Chaturbate life.
Which ones are of most interest? I found the Chat Messages and Token History told me the most but go for everything (maybe not the shows) at least once.
You’ll want to go back and update it now and again, but you only get to ask for exports 3 times in each 30 day period. Which is fine, downloading once a month probably won’t tell you more than once a week.
Select the options you want, scroll down and do the “I’m not a robot” thing before clicking the orange “Create Export” button.
What’s the password?
The next part is tricky, after clicking “Create Export” you’ve only made a request for an export, it isn’t ready yet. And when it does become ready you are going to need a password to open it. That’s the export file password and you have only one chance to see it; just one time.

It is a super long string of letters and numbers. No way you are going to remember that, or type it. Practically this is the point at which you have to cut-and-paste it somewhere safe. Make sure you get every last letter because one missing will stop it from working.
For myself, I’ll select this then cut-and-paste it into my passwords file because I know I’ll never find it otherwise.
Every time you ask for an export you are going to have to do this again, and the password will be different each time so make a note of which one this is.
Patience is a virtue
Now you wait.
Somewhere on the back-end there are servers processing your request, how long it takes depends on how much data you have and how much you asked for.
Do you have 10 years of private shows to gather? It is going to take hours, maybe days.
Just 6 months of text messages? Maybe a few minutes.
There is no way to know so just go do something else. Now is the time to come into my room and say thanks, or leave me an offline tip with a note to say you used this guide!
This could have been an email
You’ll get an email immediately saying that “Account Data Export Request”, and then some time later another email that says “Data Export Ready for <your user name>”.
Click the link in that second email and it takes you right back to the Data Export page where this time the export is not “Pending” but “Created” and is ready for Download.

Click the download button to get the file which will have a crazy name like:
exportxxxxxx1-ctmhhac.zip
Make sure you download it to your computer or phone right away, because the link will expire after a while.
I got it stuck in my zipper
What’s a zip file? If you are old, like me, or geeky, like me, then you can skip this part as you already know.
For the rest of you, this file is an ‘archive’, a combination of multiple files that have been combined and, in this case, password protected.
That makes it faster to download, more secure to leave lying around as nobody without the password can see what is inside it. But it does mean you need to unzip it, or “extract it”, to get to the files inside.
- If you are on a Windows machine then you will need to find the place the file downloaded to, probably your Downloads folder, then right-click the file and select “Extract All” to unzip it.
- If you’re on a Mac, you can just double-click the file, and it will open up for you. Once it’s unzipped, you’ll see all the data you requested, neatly organized into folders.
- If you downloaded the file to your phone then you probably should move it to a computer and look at it there, but if you have to there are apps that can handle zip files on your phone. Just search for “zip file extractor” in your app store, download one, and follow the instructions to open your exported data.
What’s inside
However you open the ZIP file you’ll find inside a folder with files, you want to click down into that folder. Keep clicking down until you find the files.
If you choose just the first 4 types then you’ll end up with these files:
- chat_log.csv
- email_addresses.csv
- profile_info.csv
- token_history.csv
You’ll notice that each file is a CSV, which stands for Comma-Separated Values. Think of it like a spreadsheet, where each line is a row and commas separate the different bits of information.
There are lots of ways to open these files but you’ll probably want to use something like a spreadsheet program, so Google Drive / Sheets will work, as will Excel or on a Mac you could use Numbers or Apple’s Numbers app. These programs will let you view and sort the data easily, helping you make sense of your Chaturbate history.
MP4 and more
If you chose private shows then you get a subfolder called private_show, and inside that are a bunch of mp4 files that are video recordings of all your private shows.
Each file is one show, and the filename has the user name of the person who bought the show, so not including spys, the date and time the show happened.
The files are very large even though they are compressed. An hour show might be a gigabyte in size so you might want to consider using an external hard drive or cloud storage to save them.
Google for the win
Saving them into your Google Drive will be the easiest way to keep them organized and accessible from anywhere. Plus, you can share them with others if you want to collaborate or just show off your stats.
In Google Drive go “Upload Folder” and choose the folder you extracted the files to earlier.
Don’t do this if you included your private shows or pictures though as you’ll probably overload your GDrive quota. If you just took the token and chat history files then that’s fine.
Lets look at some examples: I’ve truncated the data here to make the examples easier.
Sheets gives you a view like this:

But what you really want to know is how to make sense of it all. I’m visual so I like to turn it into charts.
Using Google Sheets pivot tables and charts you can make charts that answer questions like this:
Who has tipped me the most tokens?

You can create a pivot table with the “username” and “tokens” columns to see who has tipped you the most. Then, use the chart feature to visualize this data in a bar graph, making it easy to spot your top tipper.
Do I earn more from tips, spy or private shows?

The numbers don’t lie, though they can be confusing at times.
I’ll write another guide soon about how to understand more from this data, but I think that gives you a good place to get started!
Now over to you for the first step, go and download your data!
Let me know how it goes and tell me what you’ve learnt about yourself!
