You’ve probably heard by now about Microsoft shutting down Skype in May. As someone who has been using Skype since before it was purchased by Microsoft, I still have one of the old @handles, that’s quite a shock to the system.

A reminder that it isn’t good to be reliant on computer systems that other people own, even if you do pay for them as I do. And while I can easily replace Skype for personal calls, in fact WhatsApp and Zoom have really already done that, it is another matter for camgirl shows.

Skype Camgirls have been a thing since, well, since Skype started. But where will the camgirls working via Camlust and Skyprivate go now if they can’t use Skype?

I think that most camgirls are probably ok to switch to another technology, but will the viewers be so flexible? I gotta say that I’ve found more of my Skype show customers to be older gentlemen, which is great, but I know they may be less up for new tech.

The last camgirls-on-telegram startup didn’t manage to stay open for even a year, but perhaps they just didn’t have enough customers. With SkyPrivate they have a pre-existing audience so maybe that will make it work.

You can also use other popular cam sites like Chaturbate or Stripchat, which have their own built-in video chat features, but that’s rather a different experience. Somehow Skype is just feels more personal, the built in cam-2cam- is important but there is more to it than that, do you feel that also?

You might be wondering, “What about Camlust?” Well, Camlust has already got calls via their built in web messenger, and I don’t think the site is really very active any more unfortunately.

Why use Skype at all? A lot of people like not just the personal-ness but the fact that there are no moderators watching so you can do whatever you want; as long as you stick to the rules of course.

So, if you’re a fan of Camlust or Skyprivate, it’s time to start exploring your options.
