10 June 2008 -- Delisted, all these sites have gone away. Only the Spanish domain name works but now is handled by an unrelated company. DutchcamgirlsJust after I posted first this I was told that DutchCamGirls (DCG) is undergoing some major redesign work behind the scenes and will by the end of the year have a new version out that addresses most if not all of my concerns noted below. They talk about trying to balance video quality with bandwidth limitations which is what all cam sites struggle with of course. They have managed to get 15 frames per second video using only a little bandwidth, even dial up should manage, but to do this they have had to go for some different software. No Java or Flash like most sites, instead something called "the UMedia Player" which you will have to download and install. I'm sure they realize that a lot of people simply will refuse to download software from an "unknown" web site -- there is just too much caution these days about viruses and spyware so even the entirely honest website still can't convince people. If you are worried about downloading from a "porn site" then get the video software instead from the technology company who wrote it: http://www.umediaserver.net/ Install from there and then try the "preview" on dutchcamgirls. Once you do have the software installed it though you can get "TV" like controls of brightness, contrast and so on. There is zoom, either double size or full screen. They are not going to like me saying this as they are obviously very proud of their technology but personally the video wasn't that smooth for me, no where near as good as the WMP9 streaming that many sites (from ifriends to 1-adultchat.tv to LiveCamNetwork) are now using. It kept halting to buffer, and I have very fast broadband here. Update: Since I wrote the above they have bowed to the inevitable and provided a flash based video system for those who don't want to install special software to watch girls on webcam. Audio can be done either on your PC or via you calling up a telephone conferencing system and while you are in the telecon you are watching the girl on cam! Even more cool is that when you click on a different chat room on the web, the telephone conference switches with you. Each voice conference is limited to 10 participants. Voice chat only works for these countries though: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the UK . Also on the phone you can send text messages (SMS / texting) to the girls -- but only if you are in the Netherlands, other countries are not yet available. Registration is free, just give an email address and wait for the confirmation code. As a registered member you can receive email notification of when your favorite DutchCamGirls are on-line, upload pictures to the visitors gallery, create a unique 'nickname' and receive the latest news via the DutchCamGirls mailing It's still small and new, I saw only 10 hosts online out of the registered three hundred sometime. To become a host -- or artist in their terminology -- there are the usual forms. And in this case very detailed advise and Q&A. Something different is you can have a pay-per-view gallery of your pics. Payments at DutchCamGirls are in Euro per minute and are quite low at the basic for maybe 0.55/min, but you can add webcam, plus telephone to get a higher rate. AKA:
