ViceHouseViceHouse puts a new spin on the term "vice" by suggesting that vices can be good. This pretty new site has been growing quite rapidly in the last few months. Go straight into their who's online now page to see thumbnails of a few girls -- only four at the moment. They have hosts separated out into various categories like "Chatterbox" -- that's the main one -- Couples, Lesbian and Gay. There's only one host registered for gay though and when I looked at the profile it was a girl so maybe she misunderstood what it meant? Back to the chatterbox and all the models are charged the same at $0.99 which is pretty cheap of course, I guess this is perhaps a teaser? Or maybe they are very anxious to get started with some customers. All four were clearly in studios -- although I know it's convenient and good for the video I must say the single colour drape thing does get a bit tedious. personally I prefer to chat to someone who is in a home setting with a bit of personal clutter; it says something about the personality I think -- or at least that's what I like to imagine. Back to ViceHouse and for each girl there is a "Go private" and a "Free chat" button -- hitting free chat takes you to a screen with a small Java chat applet, it loaded very fast and gave me quite sharp pictures though not terribly fast. Streaming this is not, but quite typical java webcam video. You can see the video even before you provide a chat nickname, the prompt on the right asks for that and then the screen refreshes and you are into chat and video. I tried to chat to a host called BlackCat but a second after getting into chat it disconnected. Hitting refresh -- hopping to get back in -- instead I got some cryptic PHP error messages which I reproduce here for the benefit of all you programmer types.
Seems like they still have some debugging to do. (I visited Vicehouse again the problem seems to be fixed now) If you decide you want to register with them then you have to give username, password, address, email address and so on. None of this is checked though because you get into their site immediately. With "Zero credits" of course with a prompt to Buy More but you don't have to. Adding credits can be done via either one of two credit card processors, verotel or ccbill. They recommend verotel though I think ccbill is probably more famous. Not that I know anything about verotel, just they don't seem to be so active any more. You can buy credit for minimum of $10 at a time, up to $100 but apparently with no discount for bulk purchase. Pricing is per category of girl, not by individual which is the first I've seen it like this. I guess as a host you choose which category you want to be in: Prices per minute:
After registering for an account I tried to get into Vice House's free chat again with a girl called Alexa but she had the camera zoomed out and cutting her face in half so it wasn't too interesting. The membership you buy with credits is valid for 30 days. If you still have credit enough for 1 minute of private chat you can use it with no date limitation. In the presence of credit less than for 1 minute they will cut your account after 30 days. Registering as a model is pretty easy, all the fields are on one form. Independent hosts get 40%, rather less than the normal 50%, and they promise "nice conditions for Studios" so there may be deals to be made I guess. You can upload pics for your profile -- up to five -- so you can put some good shots up there if you have them rather than rely upon webcam pics. Payment is by check but you can request wire payment however for that you'll have to write to them -- an email address is given which is nice though I didn't try it myself. If you have any more information about vicehouse, please drop me a note in the webcam forum, thanks.
