This is not really a good place to ask that! eek We are all to involved... I did start to write an article once about Webcam Addiction, never finished it.

I think the whole online addiction has only one solution; that is to mix in "real life". If you could actually meet some camgirls in real life -- and find they are just ordinary people when not "on cam" it would help. But hard to do in your case I know.

Anybody else have thoughts?

I am addicted to not having a life....

Hmmm open a studio...... hmmmm ok... who wants to see me naked? laughing

Seriously, another hobby would help the dependency on web entertainers.
Something, anything to occupy your spare time.

Yep. As the cliche goes, "There's a whole world out there" with a plethora of things you can do. Don't narrow-mind yourself. Expand your mind with new interests and grow. Very Happy

I remember one day when I was a little kid and wanted to find something different to do. I went to my encyclopedia and looked under "Hobbies" where it listed a ton of possible things I could get involved in. I looked at the list to see what interest me and found that writing and the arts seemed to be the common thing I liked from the list, so I have focused a lot on that in my life.

So you can look at a list of hobbies and see if you find something that you never though of before that you might want to get into.

The whole online thing is addicting not just the cam girls although it is much more addictive. But met many a friend some I have kept in contact with for a couple of years after they quit and not just the cam girls have 2 guys who I chat to regularly. But when I need a break and get that feeling of needing some normalcy if there is such a thing I get together with some neighbors or people from work or check out a movie. With my hours that i work i am usually awake when everyone else is asleep so I find the net a little more interactive than TV. Another thing although just as addicting depending on the game is online gaming even when the house and neighbors are sleeping can find someone in a game from the sunny side of the world. big grin

I know someone who seems to be addicted to a yoga forum -- she's no longer interacting with husband and kids, just spends all her time in the forum...

So there you go. Almost anything can be addicting, if it gives positive feedback.

I think people are just changing their habits. Instead of watching something like television they will use the internet to interact with people around the world, or find out useful information on forums about yoga or whatever smile

I would just think its the computer. There are so many things that can stimulate the mind that you can find yourself killing a whole weekend in the blink of an eye. In order to fix this (I know I work with them all day, every day) you must force yourself to understand you are not missing anything online. Everything will be the same when you come back. Look outside and take a walk, drive or even do some site seeing in your own town. It really does place life in perspective. For the past few years I was on a computer from 6am to 12 am every day. Talking with my wife and working. When she finnaly got here I took her to a ton of places here. I had been to them 2 or 3 times but knew it was a brand new experinace for her. At one time we were over looking the beach where I grew up from a cliff and I just realized online can never match things like that. Not just cause I was with her but the view itself, the smells and whole enviroment, online can't even come close. There is an old saying. Get out and smell the roses don't let life pass your by. And that is so true. My personnal favorate is from a gaming mag I read that kind of fits this whole problem. "I'm master of the universe. I rule all I see. I am unmatched in battle. The only thing I fear is girls and sunlight." LOL anyway get out of the house for 1 week just use your box for checking mail if its important to. But you will see this addiction is easly breakable with a hammer when all else fails. lol.

Turn off your computer.

If you're spending all your time on cam sites and not spending a lot of money you're being a total pain in the ass to girls who are trying to earn a living. So if you can't do it for yourself, at least have a little consideration. Cam girls are not a substitute for friends. Go get some. Or why don't you go hang out at the mall and talk to the retail clerks there? At least they get paid by the hour. Maybe go to a car dealership and see if someone there will be your friend. Call up your doctor and see if he'll shoot the breeze with you. Take your car in to the mechanic for an oil change and see if they'll hang out with you for the rest of the month. These are all perfectly reasonable options. At least as reasonable as what you are doing now.

I know Madi, but I always take 1 o 2 shows x week and minimun 10 minutes, I know the camgirl are working and I dont want to waste their time, I'm trying to be friendly and talkative. When I said I dont spent a lot of money I mean I dont take 3 or 5 show x day or take 3 hours shows !!!. But I like chat with my favorite girls, they know me and they like to chat with me.

This is my problem some times I talk for 3 to 5 hours x night with the same girl, they feel boring because usually their rooms are full of freeloaders.

They're just being polite. Hate to break it to you.If you're buying 1-2 10 minute shows a week and spending 21-35 hours in chat that's just wrong. I'm happy to chat with my clients but for every 45 minutes of chat, I expect 15 minutes of paid video time. 35 hours of chat for 20 minutes of cam? In the time they are wasting talking to you they could have gotten several new clients and made a lot more money. They may be too nice to tell you, but if you really do like them, respect their time and don't put them in such an awkward position.

You are wrong Madi, My fav sites are ImLive, cumtv, Camsathome, the girls work 12 hours shift, is very boring when they are sitting for hours waiting for some client, I tell you I know this girls for 1 year or more, we are friends and we like to chat, of course when they get a client I stop and dont disturb.

My friend If I can add to this from a husbands point of view and maybe something you dont see on the back end of the cam. They like you yes. You are nice Yes. You are a friend yes. But fact is when they shut off the cam, they go about there lives and you are most likly not in there thoughts. It's nice that you stop or leave the room when someone comes in but what you dont know is that its a pain for the girl to deal with, knowing you are there. It's a pain for the girl knowing you are comming back, just to talk. These girls have many they can just talk to. My wife (if she wanted) could just talk to 10 or 15 guys a day easy. But the point is she knows she is there to work for herself. She likes nice things and prefers to buy them with her own money, its how she is. So when someone sits in her room talking about life for more then 15 mins she gets pissed. She knows he is not going to spend. In fact she knows within 5 mins if they are spenders. Fact is man these girls do not have the time to waste with internet friends. All you are really doing for some of them is help pass the down time, but you are really not helping them. Send them some money, thats why they are there. A 10 min show for 20 or 30 hours of talking is really not helping them. Think about it. In your job would you sit and talk with someone for 20 or 30 hours a weeking knowing they were only going to give you 20 or 30 bucks?
