Finding real life partners online

Does it happen? I know it does but how likely is it, and via a webcam site? Rare in the extreme I'd say but I'd like to have your thoughts!

IMO, unless both people are introduced to each other by way of mutual friends, the Internet is the best way to meet people. You can meet and screen hundreds of people in just a matter of a few hours, saving lots of precious life time. The more choosy you are, the more valuable the Internet is to you.

I would avoid chatting with people who you meet by them IM'ing you (not having emailed you first). What I can see, they are only looking for quickie sex (online or offline). MANY seem to be "mentally challenged". I get these types frequently:

HIM: a/s/l

ME: I'm not interested in having sex or any kind of romantic relationship with you.

HIM: OK, I have a webcam. Do you?

ME: I told you, I'm not interested in cyber sex or any kind of sex with you.

HIM: Yeah. I understand. Just answer me this. When was the last time you
had sex?

IGNORE!

Also, I believe the *kind* of message boards/area you hang out at looking for someone matters a lot. Like the difference between hanging out at a dive bar and hanging out at Barnes and Noble bookstore.

Finding someone at adult websites is fine I think, but it's important that the person working there carries themself in a mature and intelligent manner in order to get mature and intelligent people chatting with them.

Wow. I didn't plan on saying all this. But I'm really into studying relationships big-time.

Ther are still actually people in chat rooms? I gave up a few years ago when I went into 5 rooms and each one was all 'bots'.

As far as people meeting online. Please, I wouldn't trust me..

happened to me and my now wife. of course its a long story and no i was not one of the viewers who fall in love with cam girls. In fact I was just looking around for shows and then got board with alot of the "hi how are you" "want to see me" "come in my video" after about 2 seconds of entering the room. when I went into her room she acted all tuff which made me stop and want to talk to her being most of the hosts where acting nice, here was one who did not give two shits if I left the room or stayed. So it held me there for a little while. I met her on CC and honestly 1st thing that entered my mind was she was scaming me. we went to yahoo chat and that was around 1pm next thing I knew it was 9pm and we were still talking, the cam show never happened and the chat went on every night after my work for the next two years for an average of 4 hours a night then it went to phone calls after 2 years but that got way out of hand with the $$$ then I went to see her. I was still thinking possible scammer, just trying to get to the states, I mean she is a hosts and talks to 100s of guys a day, why this hot chick liked me? maybe she just wanted to get to the US, but when I saw how she was living I realized there was really no need for her to come here. A very loving family, owned her own flat (yes paid for, her grand father gave it to her) and made a very good living threw cam shows, 1 US dollor worth 3 in her country. And I stayed there for 2 weeks and after I left I was heart broken. I felt I would never see her again and just a total emptiness for months. Even tho we still talked every day it just killed me. Anyway the story goes on and on. and the plane travels went on and on. for another 2 years, and then the whole 1 year of visa crap which just ended last friday thank god.i will not tell you it has been easy but i can tell you it has made us realize all the bullshit we went threw only proves to each other we can handle anything. But to be honest one of the best things I love to think about is all the people who told her to forget about me cause this cross country thing would never work and the online thing would be even harder. LOL All that did was make us work harder to prove them wrong. Ok well jugg outtt.

I mean more like just sending an IM from seeing my Yahoo profile, which basically is promoting my business at ImLive.

It got to the point where I only accept IM from my boyfriend, because 99.9% of the people who IM me just want to have online or offline sex. Not having a pic posted anymore did cut down the IMs though.
