Hi everybody,
my name is Patrick, i m starting a flash webcams site very soon, 6 months looking for valuable informations about this business, and only now i found the adult webcam FAQ (what a shame to not find it before...)

i m located in europe, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and i will do my best to make my website one of the best ones, not with quantity, but with quality, we have spent the last 6 months developing and perfectioning our application, it is a super video chatroom system, its eating tons of bandwith but i love it

so i ll start with 2 or 3 questions :

1- buying traffic : we have approached sex.com, looks like they offer good stuff, but is it the best way?

2- getting models: well, actually, i know a few film makers who are introducing me to them models, so they can work from home for me, but is it a good idea to use (lets say) very well made girls, or shall we look for more classic women looking more "accessible" to everyone (to be clear, a normal looking model will have better results then a sex bomb full of botox and plastic surgery??)

3- what are the small details to look after? i have been reading the forum a little bit, and i saw plenty bosses are here, so what tips would you give me?

well, yes, i should answer those questions

1- the website is *being* finished, i got already some pages ready with the girls, but its not ment to public view, as its not finished, i ll say you can see some of my girls here : www.guiltycams.com/Girls

2- 1€ = 1,3US$, i decided to not work with studios, i m afraid of bored and boring girls (seen a lot on peekshows), i prefer amator home working girls, i pay trough bank wire
i also offer to independant models to use my webcam system on their own.
financial processor made on our own, we have a merchant account trough our bank since years.

3- special? this will come in time, like i said before, i am starting this project, i cant think of and sort everything so fast, and i m here to learn

4- to register as a model (for now), you have to contact me directly, my contact are never hidden and its much more easyer to have a nice chat then completing boring formulars

I recently started work with Sex.com and will say the system does provide traffic. AS for turning that traffic into paying traffic is hard to say. If they have a way of tracking the traffic down to the ip with a time and date stamp it might be easier to see who is comming from them and buying shows. But I placed a hidden counter on my site to see if the numbers were matching from what they told me and the answer is yes. They do not ripp you off. The system is fairly easy and they are very good with answering my questions in a timly maner. Once I deposited my cash the site was getting traffic about 10 minutes later.

Patrick, welcome to the forum! Hope you got a lot of answers to your questions from here.

For buying traffic -- I never had luck with this. I think by definition traffic for sale is not good traffic, otherwise people would use it themselves instead of selling it!

thanks for your answer, but i was thinking : if i buy lets say 25000 site views a day, i wouldnt get at least 1% of buyers? thats the real bottom of the question...

queue for a review, of course, i will do it, i can already do you a demo of my super chatroom and show you the site pages and a few models, if you like, just contact me, like i said, i also want to "rent" this application to independant chathosts

Unfortunately no -- %1 would be incredibly good. The very best targetted search engine traffic gets you maybe 0.05%. Traffic you buy would be more like 0.00000000001.

I also work with google adwords and overture and have good experiences with them. I can say this only for Germany and UK (I can`t advertise USA-sites, because of german laws). An important point for adwords and overture is to write the price in your advertisement. So all the people which are looking for something for free don`t click you.

adwords by google will suck your money dry....

Overture can do the same ..

Adwords sets you up with all the popular Sex terms .. meaning terms you prolly have no content for, like hardcore sex.. etc ..
You have to really bug and work with adwords to get effective ratio.

Overture can suck your money away in less them 10mins if you dont set it up properly ..

Traffic can be bought .. the key is to buy traffic that is geared to what you are providing ..

So for a Cam site .. bidding on the keyword Sex is not a good term for a cam site.. you will spend way to much money on it and get no turn over .
