Hey all, I'm new here, just got invited here from the GFY board.

Anyhow, I've been involved in the Internet adult business since 1996 (hard to believe it's approaching 10 years, ouch) and I've handled almost every type of content, marketing, and technical aspect of the industry except for opening a chat model studio. Well, that's all about to change. I'm very interested in hearing what you guys have to say, advice, criticism, anything you'd like to contribute.

Here are my options the way I see it. I've got access to roughly 350 English speaking women between the ages of 18-24, most of them are located in the USA, and some of them are located in Europe, Israel, and the Bahamas. I was told by a few people that if I've got access to that many girls without promoting already, that I should immediately start up my own cam network website. Here's the deal about that. I've never managed a studio or network before, and I was thinking about maybe joining I-Friends or a similar cam network to first see what the ladies can do. Is that the right approach, or should I not waste anytime and go directly to the source and start my own camsite network.

Again, any advice or comments are greatly appreciated. If you know of a better cam network to join other than ifriends.net please let me know about it, and why I should join it. What are the average payout percentages, would I have full control over my models (payment and stats wise), what are good software and hardware companies to approach about starting my own network, etc. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Hi Jon, welcome to the forum! Every question you asked has multiple answers and opinions!

I'd advise everybody who wants to get into webcam as a business to TRY it first -- both as a consumer and a "model" (you don't have to be some kind of Hunk, don't worry).

Spend a day sitting online as a model, even if you never do it again, and you'll have a whole new insight into the problems and concerns of the models who will one day work for you.

Hony
