| Anyone have any good recommendations for user and model management software? I would like something that can support some form of accounting for the payment of the models. and something that gives me very strong control over the users. thanks |

well, its easy enough to write somthing that does that, but.. if you want it to work with your Site, that will all depend on if you have access to the database containing the info.. that would be for the more automated type... the other way would be building your own database and filling it, giving it the info it needs each day/week etc..
Errr for clarity .. I Use ColdFusion for that type of work so this means the server it is running on needs ColdFusion MX 6.1 on it.
There are more then a hand full of other languages it can be writen in though .. But i only specialize in ColdFusion..
Im not sure if they make anything along these lines.. and what do you mean by "very strong user Control" ? |

| What I mean as far as strong user control is full control over banning or deleting there accounts. Some of you know the company I am using (Not using anymore, legal issue as per there name now, my lawyer tells me not to talk about stuff till this is over) and to explain this in short. There were billing issues. A customer came into the site the 1st night and basicly stole credits for his account. I was able to block his IP but the 2nd time but all he did (when I had the site up) was comback in the next morning with a new IP. I did not want to ban the whole class C range as the range showed up as being from the Eastcoast Tri State area. I would think banning NY, NJ, CT would not be a good Idea for business. Anyway since he came back in I can not delete his account because the backend software thinks the funds in it were legally bought. It just wont let me... |

| ouch......banning by ip is one of the simpler ways of doing that stuff .. But this sounds like he is using a bug , or has inside access ... hhmm .. maybe its mark ... ................... |

HI everybody, sorry for not being able to respond to this right away but as you might be able to see the site is down and there is a reason for this. I will not go into major details because there is a lawsuit along with this. Some of you know the company I went with and well all I can tell you is AWSP was totaly correct in his assestment of them. Some mistakes they made with me (if they were trying to scam me) was that in our e-mail they have stated about this very issue they were in the fault for this. It was a problem in there account scripts. Basicly I was using IBILL. That is a whole other story right now. As things sit I will have to restart everything from scratch. 6 months of work down the drain due to a shaddy company and a billing company that got screwed by its bank. Anyway the user would goto Ibill to buy time for the show after creating a valid user account, Ibill would verify the credit card and say good or bad. Well IBill did there job by not allowing the purchase as the person tried to use a fake name and address. But the system was set up that if there credit card was no good they would not be able to view any shows. Just like a normal site should. But the script my hosting company placed in my IBill account was screwed up. It did not matter if the credit card was good or bad the user was able to come back to the site with the fake purchase money in there user account and use it for shows. They did this 2 times as the notification script that was supposed to run when they pressed the purchase button did not work correct (problem again) so I was either forced to sit at the site all day and cross reference purchases to make sure they were valid or shut the sit down. I took the 2nd as I did not have the time to sit around all day and wait for this to be fixed. Just a nightmare. Now IBill wants to charge $1500.00 for processing cards. Only good thing about this is being I was in the process of getting visa verified odds are I am getting my $750 back to use with ccbill. But that is still to be seen as IBill is locked up in about 11 million in funds so it may be a long time till i see the $750.
Banning the IP was done. Bad part about this was we did not know of the problem till about 12 hours into the starting day of the sight. and the persons IP was banned. Then they came back about 6 hours later with another IP (same subnet) of which I had a choice. The subnet is owned by comcast comming out of the tri-state area so what to do? Ban about 4 million people from accessing the site? Well you can all see the nightmare grows from there and the headaches get worse but i wont bore you all. I will surly let you know who wins the case tho. Jugg ... |
