My experience with iFriends (www.ifriends.net)
This site is a scam
Well maybe Not IF you dont mind the FREE charges they put on your card the first time u log on!!!!!
Ok here is what I did and had happened and was charged for
1) signed up for the FREE account (first charge on my card of -$1.14)
2) they asked for CC info as proof I'm over 18 (Last time i ever do this)
3) I logged onto my new account
4) found a Lady i might wanna talk to
5) entered the room
the rest is time in seconds
.05 saw no one was in the room BUT the lady (NO other chatters)
.06 "why is there no other chatters here" i asked
.08 "Because you are paying for this" she said
.10 "WHAT !!!!!!" i said
.11 "Your are paying for this" she said
BAMN IT hit me I, new I was being scammed
.12 "OH SHIT" i typed
grabbing my mouse i closed and logged out as fast as i could
there was NEVER any warning or anything that i was entering or Doing ANYTHING!! that would cost me money!!!! I NEVER PURCHASED nor ASKED for anything!!! I only wanted to find out what the woman are like, and then maybe if i found someone i was interested, in, maybe buying time or tokens or what ever they do, to get the woman paid.
I NEVER EVER AGREED TO PAY ANYTHING AT ANYTIME FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and my one chat with the above woman could not have lasted more then 15-30 seconds. it happened SO fast, I find it hard to believe it was more then 15 seconds! But lets say 15-30 seconds just in case.
there was never any warning i was entering anything that would coast me money!!!!
the only other cam site i have ever used is myfreecams. and I have had a happy relationship with them.
now lets get on to what all this coast me ! (well in the end as u will see i will pay nothing)
charges began to appear on my bank account 2 days after account creation (not sure why it took so long, but I'm guessing because this happened on a Saturday evening)
first charge was -$1.14 i guess thats what the call signing up for free
second charge I'm guessing was for the 15-30 seconds i chatted with the woman -$40.83
(Identifying info removed with "X's")
XX/XX/2010 PURCHSE CHECKING WPI IFRIEND2 WA INTRN 800, 243, 9726, FL XXXXX Trace# 1XXXXXXXXXX -$1.14
XX/XX/2010 PURCHSE CHECKING WPI IFRIEND2 WA MULTI 800, 243, 9726, FL XXXXX Trace# 1XXXXXXXXXX -$40.83
so to wrap it all up!
if the above experience is something you think you want. all i can say is, "Have at it Hoss"
My Credit Union offers me anti-scam protection. that I have used twice in the past for other sites!
last time I was scammed was over a year ago!
all i have to do is go in a fill out a piece of paper, naming the offending company, the charges they made to the card. and my word i did not ask for something and/or did not receive something I did ask for. They then refund my account fully the same day.
they take it from there! i know what they do to get their money back. but that would take to long in the telling and is not important! only that I will not be liable for the above charges!
Peace ! |

I am on here and been here for a few years. this site is not a scam. FIRST of all,It clearly states if you are going to FREE Chat or not. You will see something like ENTER FREE CHAT or if they are pay upon entering, you will see something like: You must pay to enter this models room. This is plain as day.
As for me, I use the standard plan, You pay once you enter my room cause I hate beggars who want free crap. |

Thank you, a1yet, for a nice review. It is appreciated. :)
I never know, if it is scam or not, when the sites ask for a credit card. I would guess, yup, a scam. :( Credit cards do NOT do anything to verify age. Never have, never will. That is not the responsibility of credit card companies, and they never will perform that job. That is a myth, used by many, just to get people to give out their credit card info. Scam or not, never, NEVER, give out your credit card number, unless you know you are paying, and want to pay, for something.
TastyTreats, in the post, appears to indicate that he/she is both a model and a user. This makes no sense. Models do not use plans, standard or otherwise, as they have direct access to the sites. And begging, and freeloaders, that happens everywhere, both at live strip shows, and adult websites. It is up to the site and the models to entice, to entertain, to tease enough, to get users to pay for stuff. So, stop the insults already. |

Standard plan refers to the plan a chathost chooses when you sign into your videochat session. You are misunderstanding what she meant by Plan.
There is the standard plan where nobody can see your video till they pay (you see movement behind a protective window but no clear vid). In this case you pay as soon as you enter video.
There is the free to private plan where you see clear unobstructed video and you only pay when going private.
iFriends offers both.
It is clearly written whenyou enter video what you are being charged, but it's off to the side and guys don't take the time to read, enter video, end up with charges.
Read what you are agreeing to when you enter video and you won't be caught paying when you didn't intend to. I think most viewers make the mistake because a lot of sites have gone to strictly Free to Private video where you only pay when going private. Ifriends does not work that way unless a host has chosen that plan. |

| The only thing, though, is that even when you do select to cam under the pay-per-minute option, you'll still get guys in text chat who can chat and SEE you for free for several minutes at a time. This is something that iFriends needs to make clear to hosts when they join, because when I was new to that site, I DID NOT know this. The whole reason I had joined IFriends was that I THOUGHT I could do paid chat only, without having a bunch of guys seeing me on cam for free. My first day of working on IFriends I ended up giving a guy a 30-minute show for FREE, because I had thought that my "pay-per-minute" session meant that I was being paid when guys entered chat. I didn't know that guys could chat with you AND see you for free on video. So basically, if you're splitting your cam between IFriends and Webcams.com, for example...if you get a paid session on Webcams, you better quickly log out of your iFriends session, otherwise guys in your IFriends chat will be able to see your entire show that you're doing for your Webcams.com chatter. That would SUCK. |

There is a PT option only,I use it all the time. I also split my cam so I just close the entire ifriends site out when I have a PT on the site or which ever site I have a PT on. Do you see that option where is is Paid to chat upon entering chat room? |

Yes, that's what I was saying in my post. Even when you select the pay-per-minute chat (trust me, I selected the paid chat all the time), you can still have a guest typing to you (for free) AND actually see you on cam (for free). I've had guys typing to me and describe exactly what I was wearing and how I was posed. So beware of this. If you've selected PAY-PER-MINUTE for your session, you're not actually making any money until a guy with money comes in there and begins paid chat, and you will see it on the left-hand side of the screen in your real-time stats (or whatever it's called) who's currently in your room and it will say that they're paying. Like I said, on my first day, I ended up doing a 30-min show for free, because after selecting pay-per-minute for my session, a guest was typing to me, and I had thought he was paying for his time. And yeah, when you get a paid chat on other sites, you have to sign out your IFriends session, and then later sign back into it all over again (very annoying...too bad you can't just set an AWAY status, like on myfreecams). Anyway, I cancelled my IFriends account yesterday, because I wasn't happy with it, but I'm very happy with the other sites that I'm on. |

Hon, I think you are confused. I never have guys come in my room to chat for free. the second you enter my room,i am getting paid. You have to choose Standard Plan. Option , i have been here for a long time. You are still on the free to chat then PT hon. It is easy to get confused but trust me,i use the standard plan only and never do free chat. You come in my room, you are paying. $4 something a min |

No, I'm not confused. I know what I selected and what was in front of me on my computer screen. It's ok if you doubt it, but I won't continue to go back and forth on the issue...it's pointless. I stopped working on there anyway, and am happier with other better-paying sites. Glad to hear that you're enjoying iFriends though. |

| I've been on iFriends on/off for over 2 years. I know what exactly what TheBrownFox is talking about. There are many problems on Ifriends with hackers and with glitches that are allowing guests to view your for free even though you are in a private/standard session. I was in Standard mode just last week doing a paid show, and there were several other members still showing up as in the room. I asked my paid guest to set us to a closed session (unfortunately only they have the power to do that, the host model cannot, which sucks), he did but those guys were still being shown as in my room whereas they normally all get kicked when the room gets closed off to other guests. So I don't know what or how much they saw, but it makes me very uneasy and hesitant to work there. |

Exactly...thank you. I'm glad someone else knows what I'm talking about. It made me really upset to be set to private session but still have non-paying guys seeing and jerking off to me for free, talking about "Mmmm...sexy." I'd be so pissed on the inside, but I had to fake a smile to pretend to be happy chatting with these guys who were getting a freebie. *smh* Kind of the way I feel when guys from Maryland are somehow able to find their way into my myfreecams chat (even though I have the state of Maryland blocked!)...gotta fake a smile and pretend it doesn't annoy me.
Also, I read on another forum that IFriends USED to pay 50% even to models who are on other sites...that's cool. But now they only pay you 35% if you cam on other sites...50% if IFriends is your only cam site. I just recently quit ImLive (30% sucks...too many cb's...traffic has gone downhill...and I prefer getting paid more frequently than just twice a month), as well as IFriends, and I'm happy with AdultWork and MyFreeCams. I log into Webcams.com too occasionally, but paid sessions don't happen often, and when they do, the guys chat for less than a minute and leave. I just wanna make the last few dollars that I need in order to make payout ($50) and then leave that site. I'm not sure if they would still send me the $46 if I were to cancel my model account right now. |

I'm still on IMLIVE but you are right it has slowed down. I tried myfreecams and didn't like it one bit. I make more on IMLIVE! Have you tried Streamrate? I just started there and I'm quite pleased, although they have to approve everything each time you change something on your profile, which can take up to 10 days for a profile pic! But traffic is great there and they have a no nudity in free chat rule.
Funny thing about IFriends is that they allow tips in free, from what other models have said in their forums, but no where on the site does Ifriends FAQ's tell you much about that. That site is a bear to work on to begin with and is very hard to navigate. Streamrate is simple and straightforward. |

I'm "not allowed" to work on Streamate, because sometime last year I worked for Internet Modeling (a studio of Streamate that has weekly pay with no minimum, BUT they only pay 20% and you can't block locations), and apparently you have to wait one year from quitting the studio to be able to work on Streamate directly. LAME.
Yeah, that made me angry at first, especially since I had quit Internet Modeling with the intention to move to Streamate directly. But I got over it since I'm on good traffic sites that pay models better percentages anyway.
And one of the well-informed, respected girls on the other forum I post on has shared a lot of info about Streamate (they're not good things) that makes me kinda feel relieved that I can't work there. Lol. |

Yeah, I read something about Streamate taking videos of us and using them on other sites. Not sure if that is what you are referring to. There's software out there that enables a viewer to record whatever is going on on their desktop and then he posts it elsewhere. So regardless of where you are working, there's never 100% privacy. It's one of the downsides of this job, especially if you don't want anyone knowing you do it. Those closest to me know, so I'm not really that worried. |

No. Even though it is fucked up that they do that to their own models and don't give them a cut of the money (from the vids), I was referring to other issues that have been discussed in great detail on a different forum. I won't say anything else about it here (PM me, if you'd like), because last time I spoke my mind about iFriends on here, I ended up in a ridiculous argument with an IFriends cam girl on the other forum. So I feel like I'm walking on eggshells now, any time I post in an IFriends thread...lol. |
