Have you ever thought you would be doing camming for more then 2 years. full time striaght or even part-time striaght.
I got in camming at 18 years old I never thought now at 25 I would be still camming. I almost feel like I am having a midlife crisis over it. how do you keep yourself motivated I am pushing on 7 years of doing this. and becuse of financial circumstances I am not able to go to school to attempt another career.
I know out there , there is a great percentage of people who hate thier job and just do it for the bills but I never thought I would end up as one of those people.
Anyone else feeling the same way feeling that camming is a really bump and grind job. |

If I get pinched I report it to the cops! Ooops, that's not what you mean
Seriously I know what you mean; they say you should never do what you love as a job as that is bound to spoil it, and there is some truth to that.
I don't see camming as a long term career for anybody, it is wearing on the body and the soul plus it is limited in how far it can take you.
At the same time it can be a springboard to a lot of other interesting this. Many of you regulars may have noticed that I haven't actually been doing shows myself for a long long time, life is just too busy, yet I'm still involved on the webmastering end and that is working for me.
For others they have gone on to being on paysites, some have just left to go another direction - and don't forget Mika who made it to the cover of Penthouse (but still does shows).
It's like being a pro-sports person, even if you get to #1 there is a limit to how far you can go, and for most middle-of-the-pack players they need to have an exit strategy. Maybe coaching???
Just like pro dancers become choreographers and ex-actors become directors... |

Very well put Hony!!! Excellent. And Minnie, I always did like your posts hun, you rock !!Actually, sometimes a person ends up being a better teacher/director/writer than a performer, no matter what their career is. I have seen this over and over. A person cannot be "over" something, unless they are under it for a bit.
While every occupation has its burnout or slow times, I love what I do, but it involves more webmasting. Affiliate links and PR is the key. I still enjoy the guys that get shows over and over, and I would never get tired of that part. In our business, running a studio is not a bad idea, if ready to relocate where the cut would be worth it. Lately, I notice alot of people going to parts of Columbia or South Africa to do this where I used to not see these countries as much before.
There is so many online work ops I do along with webcamming, is the reason I make it. I know of camgirls struggling and putting in more hours. They are making it even in high-rent areas in the US. One lady works to make her goal of $150US a day on paper. She decided to do it however many hours it takes, and so she is doing just that. I always try to be optimistic and say things could be worse. Try to smile, even when you don't feel like it, and make out your gameplan. |
