Is wi-fi good enough? Any webcam studios in Gold Coast?

Hi there,

Im thinking to do some studies in Gold Coast and I have just been looking into shared accomodation whether there is Internet access in the house. 2 ads out of 200 had stated that there is ADSL connection but the first of them say they have very fast wi-fi connection.

So Im just wondering, if wi-fi could be good enough if I was connected to two webcam sites or three webcam sites only as I wouldnt need to make lots of money just enough to pay the rent and food.

Also if any of you knew of some studios in Gold Coast where I could technically work, please let me know.

You need high speed, each computer has to be connected into the router.

even if you have high speed and you connect each computer wireless to the router it will drop the signal.

I think it depends how far you are from the source. For example if the wifi router is just a few feet radius away from you, then there should be no problem.
I have an expensive wifi router at home, I have excellent connection in ~50 feet radius (hah 1 feet more and the signal drops dead )-
The most important factor is however, the upload rate. You should ask what is the uplink speed and with how many users are you sharing it with and if the users are limited to certain bandwidth usage?

You will need at least 0,5mbit upload speed for one site, and if you wish to multitask, then multiply this with the number of sites you want to work on.
