New softporn webcam site - comm 70% of gross for first year

I am one of the developers of a new webcam site called Sexy Girls Live On Cam:

The site is still under development but should be going live very soon. It will feature female chat hosts only. It will also be softporn only, just sexy dancing, teasing, stripping, glamour, roleplay, sexy lingerie & outfits, and other soft porn themes. Tasteful full frontal nudity is to be allowed but not required of performers.

All webcams will operate on the group model, whereby any number of members may join the show, for a standardized low price per minute.

To encourage webcam girls to get involved in the early stages, we are offering 70% (of gross) commission for a full year to those chat hosts who contact us early on. Even after the first year we intend to keep the commission rate high, at 50% (of gross).

20 cents per minute? Honestly, how could anyone afford to spend their time as a host when you are charging viewers 20 cents per minute?

I'm sorry not to have replied sooner - I'm actually away on holiday so not able to check my email very often. Hope this doesn't give a bad impression - we obviously intend to arrange timely support for both members and performers when the site actually goes live.

Also, I didn't get any replies to this post for quite a few days, and had almost given up hearing from anybody!

Beibi - thanks for your enthusiasm. I'm sorry but I can't give you even an approximate launch date at this stage, as there are too many unknowns. The site needs at least another month of development, and we also need to find enough performers who are at least potentially interested in appearing, in order to make the project viable. We have some existing sources of traffic, and can also buy in some traffic to launch the site, but this would obviously be a waste of time if there aren't any performers online

Melanie - I can understand your scepticism. I appreciate that the project is rather experimental but despite this I am confident it will work and be profitable. However, I like to be honest with people and I freely admit I could be wrong.
Beibi is correct in that the site is to be based on group shows, so you only need 5+ members to be watching your show to be getting 70 percent of $1+ per min.

Here's how we explain it on the site...

Each viewer will only be paying a standardized 20c per minute, but you only need a few viewers to be making nearly as much, or even much more, than you would through an individual private show.
We believe that you are much more likely to get 10 members to pay 20c per minute each to see your show than one member to pay $2 per minute. And there is a good likelihood of staying at this income level for much longer than with an individual show, with new paying viewers joining your show all the time to replace those leaving

Thanks for the feedback, Hony. I value all feedback, but it's particularly interesting to hear your opinion, as you seem to be a real webcam expert.

Sorry my replies are still slow in coming. I'm not back full time until 24th September, but from then I plan to dedicate my time almost exclusively to Sexy Girls Live On Cam.

I know my site model is quite different to the norm, and so is a bit untested, but I want to do something different and I really believe this can work.

The site is to be softporn only so no live sex shows as such, just teasing, stripping, sexy outfits, etc. I know from my experience with other sites I have promoted that softporn is a very popular niche. I take your point that much of the intimacy is lost with group performances, but it is still much more exciting to know that the action is live, unlike with steaming videos. And there can still be some interaction with the performer. Also, unlike a steaming video site, there is effectively an inexhaustable supply of material available, with different shows every day.

Maybe there's many people on adult cam sites not looking for sex
But once they see a nice looking ladie in sexy lingerie
And you won't be offering those extras
That's when visitors start looking else where

I'm sure you are right that some visitors, certainly those looking for stronger material, will find that Sexy Girls Live On Cam doesn't give them what they want, and so move on to look elsewhere.

But I do know from personal experience, in successfully promoting a number of glamour and soft porn only sites, that soft porn is a very popular niche. A lot of guys actually prefer it, either all the time or when they are in the mood for something a bit more subtle.

I can't disagree with that,
You know i've been quite attracted to asians myself
You'll allways find 100's for sweet looking girls on over crowded cam sites
Sometimes i have thought about a simular neich to yours
It's a crue world and we all, well all adult webmasters would gladly exploit these girls if they could.
They are exploited big time, they're allready poor when they join the site and most of them don't even have their own pcs, so they end up working for someone with a few pcs around their home for a fraction of what they should be paid.
So in a sence, it would be cool if you could get these type of ladies to your site,
Help them make some money for their real beauty, fashion, style, glamour etc.

I think also if you had one room or channel for a live music broadcast that is fed into each girls room.
Then you'' attract a whole different network of djs and dancers!

BTW, I have an idea for a cam community but the viewers have to be using quicktime player
So i would need live video streams, 1 viewer per stream, rtsp urls
I want to give out the streaming accounts to employees, and have them setup with something like wirecast or simular.
Then i will get the rtsp url for their live stream and goto work

Any hope?
