Hi,
I have never set up for cam at home before (I worked in a studio before) and although my computer has a built in cam, I thought I'd get much better quality using my Canon camera with video. However, I have no idea how to set it up as a webcam. Anybody who can help out a tech-dummy like me is much appreciated. |

Many of us are asking the same questions, hoping someone will answer? |

I have personally a canon s3 is, i googled around and it seems, it is possible to do so:

You will need a TV/digitizing card in your computer, plug in your camera as if you would connect it to the TV. Then you need a capture program like manycams. I'll personally test this when I get some time. |

No, you can't use a digital camera as a webcam. If you want a better picture buy a webcam, like Logitech pro 900, they are very cheap and give a great picture.
If you need more options like optical zoom etc, you can use a camcorder as a webcam, just connect it to a TV tuner and use a capture program. |
