| Ok so i just purchased a brand new Dell Studioxps Laptop which i really like allot. The only problem i just hate and do not know what to do is....this laptop isn't letting me get any slitcams. I tried Splitcam and Camnext and for some reason on the webcam settings or adobe flash settings nothing seems to be coming up. I have a windows vista and have camnext installed properly which seems to work fine but it isn't showing up on my cam settings. I went to see if my firewalls were blocking it and they aren't, I have them off also restarted the comp many times so i dont know what to do should i return this laptop or is it something easy i can get back to my camnext or splitcam. I would like to know your thoughts and also if you know any good splitcams you would recommend me other than splitcam and camnext i would really appericate it. I also would like to know if there is splitcam and do they have softwares for sale or free thanks! |

I will try to help. First of all, what type of webcam are you using? If you re trying to use a laptop webcam (the one installed in the laptop) I would not recommend that kind even if it works. Your picture quality won't be very good. Any usb Logitech will work better than those, and the 9000 is crystal clear quality - that one I highly recommend.
Are you able to use your cam in other cam software such as Eyeball or Yahoo?
Can you see your cam image in the software that came with your cam. Sounds like your driver is not installed correctly.
When you click Video on Splitcam do you see the driver for your cam listed? There shold be a checkmark by it when selected. |

I need a program that will split my cam feed between the two sites i'm on... ImLive & LiveJasmin. I've tried Split Cam and Manycams and neither work. I'm using a Logitech Orbshere (I think that's what it's called...lol) Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm having a hard time juggling requests with both sites |

I use ManyCams. I figured out that some sites aren't compatible with cam splitters. I use to try ManyCams on ImLive but since then i've moved to myfreecams & PrivateFeeds. It works on both sites but I found that MyFreeCams was so busy that I don't even use my cam splitter as I can focus all my attention on MyFreeCams |

| I have a dell laptop as well with the built in webcam and tried using that same software and ran into problems as well. i wish I could help you more to tell you what I did to get it to work but I know it is possible. One thing I can tell you is that if you yourself have the integrated webcam then that is most likely the problem because on mine it kept wanting to default to the built in one. One small bit of help I can offer is that 1 of the programs you mentioned can override it but the others could not, so just keep monkeying around with it, you might get lucky. Wish I could be of more help. If I can remember what it is I did to get it to work I will let you know. |

Reading a review some time ago, it was that Splitcamera does not work with Windows Vista....Too little too late probably for the person of the thread, but that is all we can offer |
