Prvt shows NOT so private when being recorded w/out consent

Hello I'm new here but I've been reading these boards for quite awhile now. I've been in the cam industry coming up 3 years this year I didn't want to start off my posting here with a negative but I specifically signed up because I think it's important for current and potential cam girls to know that THEY MAY be recorded doing cam shows. Not only do you need to read the contract your signing with said cam company very well you must also be aware that some men are taking great pleasure in recording you and posting it on a public forum to share with strangers.

From what I've observed they are hosting the files on Rapidshare and Megaupload, both these websites are easy to deal with when it comes to asking for the content to be taken down. Just simply contact them via email or contact form and ask for it be removed. Rapidshare supposedly does not allow pornographic content but does not have the resources or simply doesn't care to monitor the content uploaded on their site.

Yes it is naive to think that you will never be recorded doing a web cam show but none the less I still think it is wrong for these people to be sharing content that isn't there's to be posting in the first place. I also understand many sites record models shows and is stated in the contract. I also understand there are sites that do record and fail to mention this to the models, but that is a whole other issue.

I personally am disgusted but also fascinated as to why men want to share this type of content? With the availability and abundance of both professional and amateur porn free of charge on the web why do they put all this time and effort into something like this? Do they consider the performers feelings at all? I highly doubt it. I see it was an act of disrespect. I also believe they get some type of sick satisfaction out of having 'control' of the material and from the praise of others for providing the content. What do you think?

This is a big issue in the industry, but it comes with the job, even the tubesites have really put a strain on people on the porn industry, but you have to remember that the cam site companies can not track everyone.

Yes when you do sign the model release forms for the sites they do state they own your image that you are broadcasting and they can use for thier own promotional and business use. but as for someone entering your chat room and recording you there is no real way for them track it,

I myself will soemtimes record shows of myself and other cam girls to display in my camgirlhandbook blog but its easy to do with simple softwars out there. there is many recording softwars out there when you can pretty copy almost anything you want on the internet, but of course with everything out there in the techonology world it is tested on the adult industry first.

Try not to worry about it too much. it just one of the risk you have to consider when joining the webcamming business.

We've been in the industry for 6 years and these are our observations:

1. Video promotion wasnt that spread back then when we started, it started sometime around youtube was becoming popular, some 2006 or so.

2. There are not many sites that go over an excessive level. Many of them do however promote softcore videos, which is not as bad as getting you seen on pornhub or youporn and they make use of them wisely.

For instance Webcams.com create their galleries for affiliates from models who create them and most of the webmasters dont record them themselves I'd say.
Flirt4Free records every single show, but that stays on their servers and its not used for free promotion as far as I am aware.



Let me explain what the most annoying parts of our experience in this matter was.

First is camz.com, which provided COMPLETE PRIVATE SHOWS on cporns in full lenght of a show! Finding a 15-20min video wasnt rare. When I checked with camz, they admitted this long videos should not have been posted and will be adjusted to shorter spots. They did cut them to some 3mins videos and uploaded 5-7 parts of it, which was the whole show again.

Second is Streamate. Most of the videos I found were from streamate. Not just they are paying low 30%, they dont pay commission from the videos (claimed it barely cover the costs associated with it), they like to use the videos a lot.

As a conclusion, if you want to decrease the chances of your videos to be found here and there, consider streamate and camz.

unfortunately in today's tech savvy world their is not much you as a cam model can do to control this issue. members are becoming more aware of software out there to record their stream that they're paying for. there is literally over a couple hundred unique pieces of software that claim to do this and can easily be found for free by searching google.

you as a cam model should be aware of this as your videos could unknowingly be out there. one of the questions you should ask prospective or even current companies your working with is "what are you doing to protect my privacy online?" every site should have some sort of security/privacy policy in place.

we have developed proprietary technology to prevent "stream recording" but as you can guess things change on a daily basis so we are constantly working to prevent members from "abusing" the models by recording their live streams.

nothing is 100% fool proof either as i said things change on a daily basis so theres always that possibility, one of the first things i normally say to a model when they ask about the possibility of their videos being shown around the web, " if you are not comfortable with the possibility of your videos/images being all over the internet this may not be the right business for you. ".

as most of you may have already experienced your pictures and videos do get out there...

another thing is a lot of you maybe confused because a lot of companies do provide promotional videos/banners/images/galleries to their webmasters to use to drive traffic to their site which in turn provides you with members and sales. obviously if you see a video of yourself in private on a forum/site somewhere it's probably a good idea to report it to the owners of the cam site as they can take action to get the content removed.

Yup, Streamate records every minute. I saw a lot of host friends vids on redtube.com If you click on categories or livecams on the redtube site, it takes you to streamate or LiveJasmin.

Did you ever stop to think that redtube is Streamate, the webcam companies have more then one domain to bring in traffic.

Did I ever say there is no connection between them?? They can even have the same owner, but you can't say Streamate IS redtube,. they are not exactly the same. The problem is you don't see the point. The problem is that streamate records shows and broadcast them for free, and no sane host would be happy for that. Hope it clarifies what i wanted to say.
