Hi everyone,
I've been working as a webcam model for a while now but I signed up as a performer on Webcams.com recently and I'm trying to figure out the whole tipping system.
I haven't worked a site that offers members an option to tip in free chat before, so I was wondering if any of you had any strategies to increase tipping? Webcams.com suggests asking members to tip if they want to see you topless. But I also thought it would be a good idea to ask members to tip if they want to turn on their cams in the free chat room since that does take some of your attention away from the rest of the room.
Any ideas? Do you get a lot of tips on webcams.com?

Hello, I know this tipping system, but I don't think they would tip you because you let them to turn on their cam. Rather showing ass, boobs etc. But be aware! A lot of members want to trick you with fake tipping! Be careful if it was a real tip or just the member wrote the system text: blabla tipped you...
John Doe : John Doe tipped you ...." here you can see that the member WROTE it, but when you don't see the member's name in front of the tipping text, then you can see it's real. We had this problem in the studio I worked before. There was even a nobody, a guest, their name starts with WCand after that some combination of numbers and lketters like wc0t5h062he7e . So this guest gave himself some funny name VIP goldmember,adding this after the name above, but of course he was a nobody, without money. And he barked orders and wrote fake tipping messages, and was threatening when we didn't want to do that he asked and a guy "LUCA" or who appeared on the screen as an admin (but he wasn't that) and he threatened us with a fine 75 USD then 750 USD!!! if we don't do what he says or if we dare turn off our cams. We contacted webcams admins (there are four if I'm not mistaken) and they said this Luca ( i don't remember exactly his name) was only a webdesigner for them but not an admin, so be careful girls!
Another site where there is this tipping system is LiveJasmin, and there members do the same trick, they just type in the usual tipping text. But if it's a real tip, then you don't see their names and : before the message, plus you can see some animation on the screen! Like pets or flowers or heart animation! If you recognize these you can do fine with tipping!

A lot of chatters will post fake tips and maybe it should be a pop up window saying we got a tip instead of appearing in chat. or not appear in chat at all. |

well they also have a tip jar on webcams now. I dont know why he didnt mention it. Its at the top corner of the screen and you can clear it at any time.
The members can also view it on thier screen. It was designed to try to encourage group tipping for things. Like hey guys if i get 25 in my tip jar Ill blah blah whatever in here)
So if the tip doesnt make it into the jar then its not real.
Since the tip jar the fake tipping has dropped to almost nothing there. Sure theres always someone trying something but the tip jar ensures you can see it reflected in your earnings in real time...
Also there was another way people were faking tips there, which if youre not watching your tip jar you may get taken. By inserting some kinda html type code it caused it to insert on the following line. so youre screen would look exactly like webcams is saying it should.
the guy would type a smiley followed by the insert command and the the italic words so and so tipped 5 dollars etc
So watch the tip jar. If it doesnt go up after the tip it wasnt real.. |

We are going to add it as an alert. We are actually releasing a new model flash interface at the end of next week that includes:
* High definition encoding inside of the Flash -- much much better quality
* Really easy to use system to handle multiple privates
* Tip jar integrated into the interface
* Bunch of other cool stuff
Also, models can refer members and get 25% of any money they spend in any model's room forever .. there will be a link for this inside of the interface

I would love that! But I dont think they would ever do that because its one of thier selling features. Having the ablitiy to turn their cam on for no additonal cost... People dont usually like to lose things.
I would be interested in an exclusive prvt for additional cost like some other sites do. Where the price per min is higher because no one else can click in to it.
But the one feature I would absolutely love and probably work more often on webcams if they had, is an indicator if the member has credits or not. (It doesnt have to show the exact amount, some sites display it as high med low) I know one of the reasons why sites dont this is because they dont want the models ignoring the members with no credits but Ive worked on sites where it displays this info and thats not the case. When the model sees a customer who is interested yet has no credits she can work that angle better, try to convince him to purchase some on the spot. Its very hard to work blindly like that. Not knowing exactly what the member is hesistant about. It also helps the the members who do have credits and are just sitting quietly to get some attention, where as they may be overlooked in crowded rooms.
Also if there was any way to tweak the whispering system so you dont have to type the screen name exactly as it appears. Meaning some members have crazy names with random caps thrown in. Like JoHn_wEbcaMs. to whisper to him id have to type /JoHn_wEbcaMs which is awkward and time consuming so I dont even bother. If i could type /john_webcams id do it, but I cant. I do know you can select the name on the list and a box will come up to whisper in but thats awkward too because first of all it pops up smack in the middle of the chat screen. so you cant see whats being written in the room when the box is open and secondly to send the message you have to use the mouse to click ok to send it rather then being able to use the enter key..
(I do want to thank JohnWebcams here for addressing the issues in these forums. Its very hard to get any kind of response through the ticket system on webcams. Yes, you do get responses there, but they are always condescending in nature and never specific.) |

| Oh and I forgot to add the constantly running strip show option. Where its a lower price per min but the model is constantly in prvt mode. Perhaps allowing the models to run a show like that once a day so its not abused. Some places even have it set up so you only have the option of running a show like that only after being online avail for free chat for one hour or more. |

| I couldn't agree with that more! I have alot of guys that turn on their webcams there and the jerk it for free, they get off knowing you might be watching their cam and get off free, why pay for a show? I never had any luck with Webcams.com, way too many beggars! |
