People still spend on leisure , but maybe they don't go for premium - they want budget or cost conscious. That goes for restaurants or hotels and I'm sure it will for cams as well.
So now is the time to emphasize that you are a good deal and offer value for money (I'm not suggesting you change your pricing, just that you emphasize your value to the customer). It may be time to start working on a site which is seen to be good value.
At the same time I'm sure many cam sites that were only just surviving will go under, with plenty of unpaid bills. And it won't be just the small ones, even big companies often run on credit -- which is hard to get these days!

I totally agree with Hony, only there's nothing wrong with lowering your price at this time--temporarily.
You can call it "giving back" to your customers. Give them a break. I have.
Smart entrepreneurs always save some money when the economy is fabulous because there WILL be times like these. Nothing is perfect all the time, and that certainly goes for the economy.
It's also a good idea to study business, Wall Street, international business. etc., as well to keep abreast of what's going on in the world in order to make smart decisions on how to market yourself accordingly.
Whoever said the cam life business is a brain-less job knows nothing about the business. Ha-ha! We have to know so much about the world as well in order to stay successful. I'm still full time and planning on staying that way, but I saved when the economy was much better....And in the position right now to start saving again, due to my marketing adjustments.
All the best to everyone. Things WILL get much better! |

I too, have lowered my price and I must say I do not see a decrease in my earnings, as a matter of fact my traffic is increasing.
No matter how bad the economy gets, people can't give up on their vices, they only take them in smaller doses.
Lots of hosts have INCREASED their rates/minute, and since this is a business market just like any other, you have to speculate/exploit (among others) in order to maximize your profit, or at least keep it steady.
All those guys who used to pay, let's say $4.80/minute did not give up on their cam addiction, they simply started seeing $2.80/minute hosts.
Bottom line, in my oppinion of course there is still hope, and of course being a cam girl is still profitable. |
