the home studio never looks like a real studio, and lots of guys prefer women who work out of their homes; no evil boss to take money and harass the girls

To me it looks unprofessional when I see a girl with an ungly piece of sheet behind her. It means that there is a very small chance that she is going to give a good show.

i prefer studio girls with a good room design. Then there is a hope that things under control there and you are going to get a good show.

And lights are important. Why would I pay for a bad looking video where you can hardly say if it's a guy or girl performing? smile

Nice one page site there neil ...................

you seem to know what your talking about with cams but ... whats your background ?

Just over a year late....But here goes....

I started my career working at the old KatysKittens.com office here in Vegas....
When they went under I started working directly for PeekShows.com .....
I've done many jobs around here since then.....But the majority of it has been handling just about anything having to do with models, studios and chatadmins.......

Thats the short version....I've been here 5 years now, so the long version would take awhile....

I use Videum 1000 or 1010 cards, back in 2001 and they work great, the main reason i got them was because some site software or windows itself wouldn't allow sharing of resorses. there about 250 but i got some off ebay for 50 bucks.. they work great for me... Resently splitcam offered there software witch seems to work ok, still have some problems with certain sites but it's free so i guess i cant complain..... I'm trying to switch to laptops witch i have to use USB camera's and although most sites work with USB and Splitcam it seems to be less reliable than the comps with the winov cards... A note about winove cards, some older versions are very large and they didn't fit my computers pci slot correctly and i had to Clip some of the metal off and jery rig them to seat properly in the computer box..... I wish they had laptop capture cards i could plug my RCA video camera's into them. The zoom on real video cam gives the customers a better experiance and from my observation leads to more chat minutes for my models..... USB is so much easyer and cleaner to set up though.

I have been webcamming for almost 4 years now

You do not need to go over board on the camera, you can use basic video camcorders
Peekshows Model sign up page has a list of camcorders and video caputures to use

I am not sure if Dlink still has thier video caputre usb device I use that when I got started it was great and very cheap. 100$ I found it on ebay and I had a Sharp video camera with a remote control. I sold months ago to a cam girl she said she loves it.

Then I invested in a Dazzle Video Creator V80 and 90 you plug in your camera to the device and it allows to have clear picture as if you are watching tv.

then I got from a webcam fan a new JVC-290 with remote control and takes still pictures from the remote ccontrol video camera. it's fabulous

my new desktop computer came with a video capture device I never used it. but I tried it onces and it works great.

So you need to get a video camera they range from 150 to 500 online in store, warehouse flea markets. then a video capture device or a TV TURNER.

your biggest hassle would be lights and location for cam shows the right location for cam shows determines how much money you can or can not make.

https://reports.directsex.com/guide/lighting.asp that site has a list of everything you need to keep up in the game of being a webcam host male or female.
