Interested to know if you chat with a host can they trace your IP address? Software availible today may allow them to trace your address or see who is online with them if you have chatted before and Keep a record of your IP.
Curious to know.

Most websites use xmedia servers where you and the chat host connects. Even if the chathost or the member would try to traceback the ip information, they wouldn't go further than the ip address of the actual hosting server.
The only way a chathost/member could acquire IP information from the other side is using other peertopeer chatprograms, such as msn, icq, yahoo, aim so on.
