Sony CEO wants to go back in time, avert high-def format war

LOL, since Sony being retarded is the reason there is a format war in the first place.

Startup for making BR discs is prohibitive, and their not allowing porn means a major industry has to go HD DVD. Not to mention they're keeping the costs high. If not for that BR would have won already on technical merits, it simply has more capacity.

HD DVD is easier to produce and no content restrictions because of it. And note the timing, about a week or two since Walmart made a major move toward HD DVD. Walmart sales are a huge factor in the DVD industry.


Of course they wish they could take back the war, they're feeling the tide of battle shift against them..
