Hony,
Looking through some threads... what are best approaches you believe in getting talent for one's site.
This is what my friend at Radical Cams has been doing and to a point successful but we had no fufillment. He's our PR with studios and girls and has travelled to meet studios in several countries.. but as of now very little success.
He would hit other chat host sites and proposition or solicit them to work our site. Knowing that most girls in eastern block are probably work from studio's and they could bring multiple hostesses to RC, he has had some success in getting them to host on RC. Howerver very little traffic made the hostesses not use our site and the studios take off even if we are paying them to which I considered great money.. and not like $1 per hour maybe 20 or more..
To mention again, we are gonna start dumping adverstisement money to bring traffic and have one or maybe 2 studios lined up (not part of my gig with the site).. but they will be guaranteed (x) dollars to be online... but I find that they are not online when supposed to be and some dishonest ways of creating relationships.. I guess that is the world of the WEB.. LOL..

I don't know much about studios but the single girls all want to hear that there is traffic at your site, that you have some kind of "special offer" that makes you special -- and some way to feel confident that they will actually get PAID.
Most new sites seem to end up not paying the girls, and that naturally makes them very reluctant to invest their time in your new site.

I understand what you are saying.. about honesty, and I know we are.. as from our meeting we are gonna hit some paid ads in LA Time and NY Village Voice starting in 2 weeks, plus something in Miami, but I don't know the name.. My job is doing some keywords....
It's a catch 22, if you don't have user traffic, hostessess/hosts wont hang around and if not a diverse amount of hostesses to choose from users leave.. that is what we have been up against... but we still have a descent base of signup's and I prote to my email lists from my other sites.. we are gonna give it a try for a few months as I understand.. LOL

Yep chicken and egg is true... I guess timing helps here? Publisizing both at the right times (girls slightly ahead of guys I guess).
If you think of the sites that have built up in the last couple years though they have done so incrementally.
You may just have to pay cash out to generate traffic in the beginning in order to satisfy your hosts -- coz no hosts no business.

You are correct.. if you are in LA, Miami, NYC watch for it in the Village Voice, LA times or something like that and Miami alternative presss.. we might also be in the Chicago Reader.. I personally am more for the Adwords and Overture, but noone wants to listen to me.. LOL..

You mean adwords/overture? I can't understand how this stuff continues to live -- every time I try it the ROI is negative. I'm mean am I doing something wrong or is goggle just ripping people off?

My expectations from advertising are very realistic, if any campaign pays for itself then I am generally content. Primarily because I am $$$ even and I must have created some good positive PR along the way!
So far I have only found one online advertising method that has achieved this for me, and absolutely none that have generated a healthy profit. |

Dr Cubi,
What has worked for you, I would assume online is a compulsive buy, you are there and the person is looking for it, in a magazine or paper, they have to remember the link or have it when they are by a computer.
Thanks

Intersting question, and interesting dilemma - should I empower my competition! Well what the heck - here goes. No secrets here anyway - just lessons learnt the hard way, ie. with a severe ding in the VISA balance for all the things that didn't work.
Three things work for us, one is online and the other using regular media.
Firstly, we learnt the lessons taught by Lavalife, before they IPO'd they had classified ads running in virtually every paper in the country! Our pockets aren't as deep so we're expeimenting with a few and seeing which ones make the most difference. Again the bar for me is breakeven point. With businesses such as these it is hard to assess the results, but we watch publication dates and traffic stats like a hawk. Conversions from this method are pretty good, ie. traffic that turns into customers.
Secondly, targeted adult popunder advertising online. This can cost around $200 for 30,000 hits, and we buy 30,000 per month regularly. Went through several popunder suppliers before finding one that worked and we're sticking to them. Conversion rate is pretty low. But it easily brings in $200 profit per month and the added PR of being infront of 30,000 faces never hurts.
Hope this helps!!

When I started (about a 18 months ago) Adwords for the keywords :
"adult live webcam" would cost 15c per click to be in the top five. Seen the price now?
This is how they stay alive, people with more money than brains throwing cash their way and not really assessing the effectiveness. |

everything helps thanks for being candit.. I fight a bit with my buddy who now seemed to turned into controlling partner.. LOL.. funny how it is.. I don't want to loose my friendship, but I butt heads in what I think should be done with him.. for example I believe google and overture might be a good thing, but he wants to blow right off the bat 4x what I suggested.. I say bid low then after a few days or a week we can see what works instead of just blowing it.. then I know our ad started running in the Village Voice.. so if anyone is out in NYC let me know..
but then I go to our site at http://www.radicalcams.com and not one girl online.. LOL.. gonna check the logs tomorrow and see if the ad is working, we are posting a different link to do a count and then redirect to Radical Cams.. and let me tell you those runs in the village voice are not cheap.. we are committed to like 3 months..
About LavaLife I still see them promoted on billboards but the commercials don't run as frequently.. LOL.. other competitors our there now..

I just tried again with a pretty straight forward adwords campaign -- so far I'm earning $1 for ever $4.8 I spend.
This is not how to get rich.

Hi I run www.liveworldwide.net a new chat site as well.
We are in the same boat you have to be able to get traffic and chat hosts going at the same time, to make any money and that is no easy task. |
