What is required to start a Studio (cost, software, legals, etc)?
Is it possible to have a studio and have all the models work from their home without having a brick and mortar studio? What software do I need to tie all the video streams together and to push it out to a content provider(s). Is the software based on the the content provider or is there a standard? Also, what can I expect for payment and what should I pay the models ? Am I right when I say that models (and I) only get paid when a customer goes into private chat with them. Also is there software that I can use to monitor all the video streams, I will like to keep the content, top notch and remove any dead wood before I upset the content providers/clients. I have a Software Engineering background (ex M.S. guy, don't hate me!!) so be as techie as you like. I really believe that the web-cam/video entertainment business is a fast moving and growing business that has not been saturated yet.
I was in the Adult business back in the late 90's but got out when I saw the Internet bubble growing and waiting to pop. Now I think it's time to jump in again, I don't see any sharks, yet!!!!
Thanks in advance!!

there is many ways to become a studio. You can become an affiliate to the site and have girls work from home, then they have to come to you. that will only work if the girls do not do thier own homework and work independently on the sites. or you can run your own site, and have in house girls keep the site busy.
but if the girl is working from thier own home, and always have to go to your for a check eventually they will get fed up and start doing it themself escpially if they are in a city that has more resource of making money in this business like usa or canada.
so you can pretty much run a studio if you have unexperience girls who do not have computer at home.
When I got started I went to a studio they claimed they were a site for streamray after about 6 months I started questioning thier set up, and did reasech on google then I found this website, then I found out about other sites then I start working from home on sities I set up indeepdently as a model, then once those cheques started rolling wiht my name on it and not some studios name on it. I realized how much I was being cheated.
Then the studio went out of business, then I contacted streamray and work with them as an indepdent model.
Because I was geetting knowledge and reasources and skills to be self reliant I did nto need any studio.
now even Flirt4Free is setting up girls to work as independets. |

Hello Christian welcome to the forum. I will point out differences in a Remote studio and an actual studio.
First off there is no software available to actually view all the streams or "Send" out the models cam all at once to all cam sites, you will need to sign up on each of the Live Cam websites and download their software (Yes models will have to have multiple software running at once). You will use a stream splitter like SplitCam to be able to run multiple websites same time with one cam and computer.
Here is some of the issues with running a "Remote Studio":
Models will be working from homes, the idea of keeping constant hours (I.E 40+hours a week) usually goes right out the window, some never even go online hardly (that’s the worst, especially when you have spent allot of hours setting up all their paperwork per site and the model never even goes online). Running a remote studio you really have no control of the amount of hours they work.
An actual studio is more like a job, need to show up at certain times to work your shift, thus the model keeps a schedule, better for you better for customer (customers like to know when their favorite model will be online).
Sure you may find a few good models that do keep times working from home, but you will find this to be a very limited few, (what’s to keep them from just working on their own without you?)
As for pay that’s a really difficult one to say, each country's pay is different generally. If I post what I think they should be paid I’m sure it would be considered more of an opinion rather than a fact.
We have done both -Remote and Studios since the beginning, Remote studios generally don’t work out as well.
The legal side of this:
For remote work in states, it’s just your typical w9 forms taxes etc.
Opening Studio in USA, you need to check with local laws.
Opening Studio in Europe depends on the country.
Paying models in Europe, you pay them,, you just need to file specific forms for the amount you made minus what you paid out, see your local tax guy (H&R block ...Etc)
We are seeing lately an explosion in larger mainstream companies breaking into the adult industry (pay-per-view, webcams etc...) But don’t be fooled by all this, the 90's was much easier to make a buck, its extremely competitive now, knowledge and understanding of the marketing issues will greatly reduce failure.
As long as you can keep your costs down to open a small studio you should be fine. If you need any questions answered, you can call us anytime.
Best Regards,
Jeffrey Miller CEO
