Whaqt happened to CC?

It seems CamContacts has disappered. I know they have been having problems but I always used to be able to tracert the site. Now it is completely dead.

Anyone who heard something?

Dear all,

Yes we all know CC is down again Only this time it
is not down down , only invisible to the internet. I
will now give a brief explanation of what has happened
and you can evaluate yourself whether it was CC's
fault or not.

Basically what has happend is that through an exploit
in the ISP hosting CamContacts server the DNS records
for CC have been 'modified' read erased. As these
servers are the authority about what machine is what
for CC it then propogated this information to all the
other DNS servers thus rendering CC unavaible and
invisible to all but those who have static routing for
CC.
Maybe u could explain me what that means cuase i really dont know

Well, I am not an expert, but I will try to explain.

Every site got an address made out of numbers. They are called IP. For example 195.149.126.59.

But it is very hard for us to type that number in our browser every time you go to a site. So instead we write www.camcontacts.net.

When we write www.camcontacts.net a DNS-server translate those words into the IP number so the site can be found.

DNS=Dynamic Name Server

In this case the translation was erased so when we type the address the site was not found, although it was not down.

But, everything is fine now. The DNS is working and the site can be found now.
