Hello, I have been looking into working online for a while, and have been doing quite a bit of research into different sites and all that, but I have a few questions I haven't seen addressed anywhere else so far.... sorry if they are stupid! I don't know much about this as I'd like to...
I've been wondering whether or not the viewer is able to record while you are doing a show for them, is there anything preventing them from doing that? It seems like a prvate show should be for their private use only, and if it were recorded (and possibly being copied and traded), then the chathost would be getting ripped off!
I've also been wondering if there are standard laws about what you can and can't show or do, or does it vary from site to site, state to state maybe? Because on some of the rules for hosts on various sites, it has mentioned that you can't have anyone else or any animals on the camera at any time. So do I have to shut my cat out of the room if I'm going to be on camera? I can see the rule being there to avoid people doing anything that would violate beastility laws, but if my cat walked by in the background, would I be in trouble with the law???...:O!!!!
My other stupid question is: there seem to be a lot of complaints about being fraud when it comes time to be paid, I am wondering how you can keep track of your minutes during private shows, I'd like to avoid any situations where it was 'my word against theirs' involving how many minutes I worked.
Thank you to anyone who can answer these for me!!! |

Q. I've been wondering whether or not the viewer is able to record while you are doing a show for them, is there anything preventing them from doing that? A. Some sites have the right mouse click disabled preventing any saving to desktop or something like that and some don't, but theres probably some kind of software some customer's might have I'm sure. Q. I have also been wondering if there are standard laws about what you can and can't show or do, or does it vary from site to site, state to state maybe? A. It does vary the site most likely has the do's and dont's in the performer section, just look for terms and conditions or performer rules for the site you want to sign up for- Because on some of the rules for hosts on various sites, it has mentioned that you can't have anyone else or any animals on the camera at any time. So do I have to shut my cat out of the room if I'm going to be on camera ?I can see the rule being there to avoid people doing anything that would violate beastility laws, but if my cat walked by in the background, would I be in trouble with the law???...:O!!!! A. As long as your not having sex with animal's which I hope your not lol I don't think you have anything to worry about there.
Q. My other stupid question is: there seem to be a lot of complaints about being fraud when it comes time to be paid, I am wondering how you can keep track of your minutes during private shows, I'd like to avoid any situations where it was 'my word against theirs' involving how many minutes I worked. A. For this I reccommend you study this site and study it well it has many topics on fraud sites and so on, and as for the keeping track of your minutes a simple egg timer will give you a general idea of how long your show was. |

Kim hit it right on the money. Software people use to record your shows is screen capture software. There is really nothing to combat this. Some software wont play correctly if recorded this way but most of the time there is nothing you can do. It's a risk in the business. Most people who are recording it are two types. The 18 year old who wants to post it on his site or forum as in "look what I got this girl to do" and the customer who wants to keep the video for himself an well, late night cheap fun. But most of the time the video looks like crap. You wont find any of the larger websites allowing posts of videos like that as most want a quality vid.
The kids and animal thing LOL Kim hit that one also, just dont fuck them and you will be ok. I would recommend you never ever have your kid in the video, even if its just for a second. Animals, well our dog walks where ever he wants in the house and has walked into my wives cam shows. It makes for interesting conversation.
Tracking the minutes you will have to do yourself once again like Kim stated. But in all seriousness, most sites are run with an Iron Hand giving and taking money from the hosts at will for what ever reason. They mostly take, and its rare to see them give. Alot of the sites will make up rules or bend the rules as they go. Just stay on top of what you are doing, keep a note pad with your minutes or print out your daily totals. If you have a problem go at it with the site with kid gloves, as some of them will ban you from the site just to show you they are in control. Or they want you to beg to be let back in their program. It's just their sick way of keeping control of the hosts. And above all build up at skin for some freaky shit. You need to be a strong in this business, there is nothing like having a great day and some shithead comes in your room an calls you a whore or fat or just about anything to knock you down. Just dont let it get to you. If you treat this like a real busniess you will see you can make alot of money. Good Luck welcome to the forum and dont be afraid to ask questions everyone is here to help. |

Yayyyyy!!! Thank you both for your answers, I feel better about getting into this type of work.... I'm not so much worried about rude/ mean customers (My only job so far has been in retail, and i've been called EVERYTHING, and had people throw stuff at me too- all this at a fairly high end shop) as I am about working and not being paid for it... as long as it doesn't happen too much, I'll be happy! |

| Well depending on where you are working you can always just ignore them or block them. Not like retail at all other then you should smile all the time lol. |
