Seems one way is to give out identical "affiliate sites", that people will all put up with identical content pointing to you. At least that seems to be what has killed www.templatemonster.com!

Yep! If you have dozens of pages on your site with the exact same content on each page, you are sure to get banned. Make sure each page has some different content on it, that way the search engine spiders will not ignore the page.
