Delisted 1 Feb 2008 -- no models seen online in a month as reported by TheMole

I got a request to take a look at a very new site called LiveWebDate which has just gone up after two year period.  Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina they run their own studio which can be seen on their own site or via 247live.

Apparently they have a 18,000 sq.ft studio facility with fiber optics, studio facility, dressing rooms, show rooms, 50 computers and cameras.  Sounds like quite an operation.  The girls are local to Argentina but they have been actually providing them with English lessons so they would be better able to converse with US customers.  Now that's a worthwhile investment that the girls will be able to take with them when they leave.

Though the girls are in South America the hardware and the tech knowledge is in UK, in Cambridge to be accurate at a company called Saviso.com -- more well known for working on websites like BBC and Barclays.

How do I know so much about this?  Because it seems they filmed the one year of preparations in documentary style, and are now trying to sell this as a TV documentary!  Not successfully yet I think; but on TV screen near you one day may come the documentary of how LiveWebDate came to exist!

All this investment in high tech and good facilities of course teams the highest quality video feeds, and of course the girls of Argentina are known for their good looks so it sounds like a good match.

Once you log into the site you have to choose the service level you require and the length of subscription you wish to take out.  Confusingly this screen was in Spanish when I first logged in, but clicking on the little US flag at the bottom of the screen switched it to English and I could then read the interesting, but complex, options.

Basically you can take out a subscription for a set period -- a month -- and pay a flat rate for that.  This then allows you to purchase private cam time at a discounted rate.

You don't have to take out a subscription -- you can just say you want the "Bronze service level " which is free, but then you are going to pay $4.50/minute -- which is medium price.  But if you pay the $60 for a Platinum service then privates are only $1 a minute, a very good deal -- remember that's private, not group chat.

Here are the other options:

Confused yet?  Me too!  Basically I think you should try out Bronze -- no subscription -- at first, then if you like what you see quickly jump to a Silver or Gold level to get the discounts if you are going to spend more than a few hours there.

More confusing is I'm told that members signing up now are getting unlimited free chat even at Bronze -- but I think they mean the "panty chat" which you can get even without signing up.  If you want nudity you still have to pay.

After all that once I finally got in I was disappointed to find only two girls online.  Admittedly this was during the middle of their night.  However not a problem, I dropped in on April -- a young blond who apparently took those English lessons very well because she spoke (typed) fine and was very friendly.

First thing she explained was that they do have sound, though it wasn't working in her room at that moment, and her and a couple of regular in her room were saying that yeah it's a new site and some teething problems but generally it is working.

Then when I asked her to zoom in -- because the video was of a huge room; nicely decorated and much nicer than the regular studio rooms -- she says "what camera are you watching" and I realize there are two cameras too chose form.  Ok, that makes more sense.  So I switch to the other for a very nice close-up.

At this point I have to mention the video is excellent quality, smooth real streaming video using WindowsMediaPlayer (WMP).  You can even right click the video and go full screen which something I've not seen before -- the full screen quality is pretty fair as well.  Using WMP seems to be a growing trend, you are seeing it on a lot of sites now -- iFriends have been using it for more than a year but the sites like livecamnetwork are now also pushing it.  It makes a huge difference to the video quality, but you really have to have good broadband and of course Windows, to make it work.

After a while of chatting with April it's off to see the rest of the site, there is nobody else online now but I look around and the newness of the site is apparent.  Some of the sections are not really filled in yet; in particular the special events which you are supposed to get with your premium subscription, are not yet available.  And the Girls Dormitory is not working yet.  That's a bit like the cams in the Amsterdam Cam house, it's fun to watch though a very different experience to a live chat.

If you really fall for one of the girls then they will even sell you posters of her -- and from huge ones too, like almost 3 quarters life size, down to wallet size.  Or DVDs of a couple of hours of one of the girls.

There are whole lot of "public rooms" to view as well, they aren't labeled very well but you can search around them until you find something you like.

Billing can be done in Sterling, US$, Euros or Yen.  When it comes to purchase private time you can buy it in units of $5 via ibill who is their credit card processor. Which would concern me a little given the financial problems ibill has been in recently. 

If 247live has the same girls then it may be better to go via them as that site allows you to pay via ccbill, EPassporte or via phone.

 So my final thought is that this site has a lot of potential for viewers but still has lots of things to work out, I hope they get their development all done soonest, but as a host I would have to move to Argentina to work there which just isn't on the cards right now!
