Nice name, but really the site is a bit "red" for my tastes. Seems to
be a theme these days, both Live Jasmin and
Asian Babe Cams seem to love red too.
CamFever is strictly a medium sized site with a dozen to a few tens of
models online at any one time.
You no longer seem to need to register to get "free video", though you have
to buy credits to get registered. It's $15 for 20 minutes so the price is
cheap, I presume that'll be group chat too, but like most sites with not too
much going on "group" chat can mean a group of just you and the girl.
I had some trouble with the JavaScript when I first tried to use the system
-- Mole reported the same in the forum -- but when I tried on another PC it was
fine so puzzled there. If you try clicking on things and they don't work,
maybe try again later?
Whether you are registered or not you can click "LiveFeed" under any girls
pic to see video of her -- live it would seem -- but there is no text chat.
Clicking "Chat" takes you into the proper chat screen as long as you are
registered -- and that has video and text, and starts the clock running on your
credits.
No audio or cam2cam as far as I could see at this site, so they are a bit
behind places like PlayMateShows, but make up
for it with a selection of models.
All very nice looking studio models, and with good digital pics (not webcam
shots) in their gallery -- together with no place for a chathost to sign up
makes me think this is not for the amateur work-at-home models.
At one point a lot of the girls working at CamFever are apparently ones who used to be at
SecretFriends, it seems a whole studio moved
over so if you are a fan of some of the SecretFriends performers take a look at
CamFever to see if they are there. They were the ones with the cute
school-girl rooms and wearing pigtails and stuff, all legal age of course but
made to look as young as they can.
I went into chat with one girl named Diana, the chat was a smooth flash app
that worked just fine. And like many flash apps there is a "Zoom in"
function on the right click menu. It isn't really designed to work like
that but in effect it does allow you to zoom in on the video window, but at the
expense of cutting off the chat text window a bit.
All you get is a slightly blocky video but depending on your screen size it
can help.
Anyway Diana was very nice and chatted away with me for a while, it was a bit
like chatting with a younger sister.
All in all I only found about a dozen girls online, all young and nice
looking Europeans. Diana said she was from Finland -- and has like all the
girls there a very detailed bio. It's much better than most sites because
it has questions like "My first sexual experience was... " and "3 crazy things i
want to do this year " -- of course not all of them given good answers, but many
do. At least I can hope it is them answering.
To buy chat time you have to use a credit card, which they seem to process
themselves rather than through a 3rd party, it will be discretely billed though
as "datapush.net".
There is set pricing for all the hosts at:
15 minutes is $19.95 or $1.33 a minute
40 minutes is $39.95 or $1 a minute
120 minutes is $99.95 or $0.83 a minute
So if you are buying at least two hours at a time it's very cheap. But
that two hour purchase is your limit, at least your daily limit. They will
not accept more than one $100 purchase a day -- which I guess is reasonable to
keep you from going out of control, and also saves them from people with stolen
cards I presume.
In the middle of 2005 a lot of the hosts went away and it was quiet for a
while but recently (Oct 2005) I heard that they have new hosts -- not the ones
previously on SecretFriends -- online.
Overall a perfectly good place to feed your webcam addiction!
