You'll rarely see any hosts available at MyCamfriends. Perhaps 4
or 5 are listed, but are all "busy". Not exactly
a growing site. No registration required to get to the free video chat and
pictures though you need to join and pay for the one-on-one private chat.
Price for private chat is listed on the "bio pages" for easy comparison
between girls.
This is managed by the same company as
SecretFriends, but seems to be running separately. MyCamFriends is
more expensive on a per minute basis than SecretFriends.
Private chat varies between hosts but I mostly saw at $4.95/minute to
$3.95/minute. A few were at 1.95 though which is more normal these days.
The video and text chat themselves are flash based and quite nice to use with
with color text and so on but no smilies I could see.
Nice touch that you can turn on or off in the text chat window the display of
system messages (e.g. "Jon just joined the room") as well as date/time stamps
for each line.
Just enter a nick to get into chat, no need to signup. If you do want
to signup then it's just nick and password - but then it goes to a secure page
at "paytechbill.com" and it wants your credit card details. "Your
credit card will be authorized for $1. This charge will NOT show up on your
credit card."
It may be a free account but they want to make sure you are creditworthy if
you do decide to spend!
Free video switches off and goes to a ad after a while, but you an click it
to go back to the video. Just saves their bandwidth for people who walk
away I guess.
Though with the pretty slow one-frame-per-second "video" in free mode I'm not
sure that they are using that much BW!
Each girl has maybe 10 chatters in the room with her, but most are silent
lurkers of course. Most of the rooms are Eastern European girls in
standard studio settings, look a lot like the older SecretFriends rooms.
Oh this is funny, one of the models has "camsplitter evaluation version"
running as a banner across the bottom of her video window! Well that's a
give away isn't it.

Joining as a host is pretty typical, payout is 35% minus chargebacks and
fees. Payments twice a month but with a 3 week holding period, and a 20%
of gross holdback to cover chargebacks.
Given the low cut and the lack of traffic I'd say it's reasonable that
someone would try to run split cam on a site like this.
