Year 2007 Adult Webcam News12 Dec: You probably already know that Cams.com aka cumtv is owned by the same company that runs adultfriendfinder.com. Well the whole lot has just been bought out by Penthouse for a cool US$500 Million! [read the press release] [comments] 4 Dec: More "professionals" appearing on cam sites all the time. This Friday at 8:00 PM (EST) Penthouse Pet Charlie Laine will be doing a one girl show for LiveCamNetwork.com. How does this really appeal to the average viewer who really wants to build up and established relationship with a favorite girl? Other cam sites like Flirt4Free and imLive have flirted with this sort of thing and seem to have the dropped the idea so I'm not entirely convinced this is really something viewers are looking for. [comments] 2 Dec: imLive now has a "better together" feature which basically allows the viewer to chat with two chathosts at the same time. Sounds like something for the big spender! They actually have quite a few new features over at Imlive including "keyhole" peeking (e.g. secretive video with no chat) and blogs by the hosts -- not that many hosts are using those but if they did it would certainly be a way to keep viewer attention. What's new in this new year is that Imlive is jumping into the "porn star chat" game, that Flirt4free pioneered, only they call it a "Celebrity Event". Penthouse Pet Aria Giovanni is up first and will be on line 4th Jan from 9 until 10:30 pm EST. Seems to be similar to the deal at F4F; if you are a member then you get into the group chat for free. At only 90 minutes it's a lot shorter than Flirt4free's 4 hour shows though so get in early! Interestingly the announcement says that Aria will do one-on-one for members at no additional cost, but only people who credit (though they don't have to use it). I wonder how that will work given that I'm sure everybody would like to take the one-on-one if they can, perhaps it'll be first-come-first-served in which case even more reason to get in early.
